Taking my teenage granddaughter for glasses next week, so this was right on time. she sort of favors model # 1. Now I kind of know what kind of frames to look for and what color! Thanks so so much!
I don't know about the glasses, but you look fabulous in this outfit. Watched the video just to enjoy it. As for the frames, I'd vote for the first black ones - really classy on you and flattering, maybe a bit understated, but I loved them.
Dominique Sasche the. Queen of Elegance. Thank you for teaching us the right ways as a lady❤ I have been watching your videos since 2015. Your the Best Blogger Ma'am. Thank you❤ With respect and Love from Canada
Domonique, you are the best! This was perfect timing because I needed to replace two pairs of my old glasses with new prescription and I ended up with two frames that I would have never selected or even looked at considering I am 50, had I not seen this video. Yes they ended up being designer frame and little bit more expensive than I I was hoping for but they're worth every penny. Thank you
OMG! I have been battling this for YEARS! I've worn glasses for 25+ years and I always play it safe. I always want to try something new and daring and never do. I'm determined now to shop for a new pair. Great video!
I adore your videos...you’re the epitome of class and grace! Everything about you is so real...thank you for sharing these wonderful ‘slices’ of your life with us. Pure magic!
I have to get some new glasses/frames this year and the tips on how to choose the best ones for shape face and for eyebrow shape were great! Now I know what to look for when I am shopping. Thanks so much!
All the fashionable frames are over $400 and up! It’s ridiculous. So you end up buying junky frames thru VIP or other vendors and even those are NOT reasonably priced. What ever happened to metal frames. The dark rimmed frames are too millennial and not suitable for seniors. In my opinion, the eye glass industry is taking advantage of consumers and over pricing eye glass frames. My advise, hang on to your old frames and recycle. That’s what I have done.
I've been pleasantly surprised with the price of quality lenses and frames from Costco. I got two pair recently (one sunglasses) that are polycarbonate, anti reflection, UV filtered, scratch resistant, and progressives for around $350.
Costco has a nice selection of designer frames and regular frames, great quality and superb polycarbonate, anti reflective lenses with UV etc. I bought two pair, the optician fitting them had been there 20 years ...so knowledgeable.
I was an optician BC (before children). I want to add that it's also important to consider the effect of you eyeglass prescription. If you are nearsighted, the rx is going to make your eyes look smaller in the frame, and possible even bring the scene behind you into the frame. The more nearsighted you are the greater the effect, so if you're quite nearsighted you don't want a large frame. You don't want people to look you in the eye, but see the room behind you in your frame.
This is so useful Dominique. As your optometrist said, you can't beat going in person to try out the frames for style and comfort. Your plum tone outfit is so elegant - really your colour.
Timing was perfect because I just had an eye exam for the 1st time in 11 years and am now going to try to find my perfect pair of glasses. This video was very helpful.
I loved watching this. With -11.00 prescription my choices are limited but I wish I had someone as nice and knowledgeable as her helping me to pick out frames. 😊
I bought progressive glasses once. I went right back to my eye doctor, set the glasses down on the counter and said.... _This is exactly why I don’t drink!_ 🤣
Rara Avis I have a pair for reading and a separate pair for TV. I don’t need glasses for long distance. But if I ever do, I’ll buy a third pair for that. I refuse to wear bifocals or trifocals. I’m stubborn! 😘 👁👁
Judi Dunham I have stuck with my bifocals to avoid the drunk feeling. And I have several pair of the large designer frames, so, with my bifocals, I no longer have to keep switching out to see this then that. Name is Judi as well 👵🏻🤓
Do you have tips/do's & don't for eye makeup when wearing glasses? I'd love to see a video on that. I often love my eye makeup but then put my glasses on and feel disappointed, like I can't see it.
OH OH OH!!!!!! So VERY HELPFUL!!!! Wish I could get on a plane and fly and see her! Thank you Dominique , once again, for a great and practical video! Can I just tell you how much I look ...(no pun intended) ..forward to your informative videos. Thank you for your time and for sharing. I know you are helping so many of us out there! You can wear any frame and I personally loved all of them. It is so personal though, I know. Everyone has to wear what they feel comfortable wearing! Happy eye wear shopping everyone!
Great advice for selecting 👓🕶. The ones you wear, when you are on TV look perfect on you 👀 It. is fun to have options and play with shapes and colors. 😎 ✅👍
I’ve been wearing glasses for most of my life 🤓 I’m of an age now that I have no interest in frames that arrive before I do, as they say about fashion, are you wearing the dress or is the dress wearing you? The absolute best glasses I’ve ever had were from Hoya - frameless with wire (strong!) temples and no drilling into the lenses so no distortion. Yes, they were expensive - but they were worth every penny (I’m blind without eyeglasses) The nose/bridge and the temples were a beautiful teal - just enough pop of color to flatter, but not overpower the face. Because they are frameless the lenses can be cut in a multitude of shapes. I have an eye checkup this coming week. If I need a new Rx you can bet I’m going back to that design. Thanks for the fun and informative video!
Dominique can wear any style and look great. I just ordered new glasses this week and was not pleased with the big clunky frames they are pushing. I still cringe when I look back at pictures from the late '80s. The frames were so large and unflattering but we all thought they were cool. UGH!
Thank you Dominique for shedding some light on this topic. You are my "go-to" for most everything now! I keep saying that Wikipedia should be changed to Domipedia!! Lol. Love, love, love you, and your beautiful, classy self!! ❤️
Hi Dominique, Happy spring🌺 ... Great video again, I’m never sure what shape my face actually is , I think I’m of the oval range. I experiment each time I get a new pair I like different colors and shapes this was very informative it would be so nice if all Eye doctors had someone with such good expertise. Last time I found a pair on the clearance and love them ( just saying you never know) that saved me a ton of money . But just got some great ideas thanks again
I, too, just stopped at a place to try on lenses! So many of them were so big for my face. On your video, I enjoyed the pointers along with the right vs. wrong section. I think that is very helpful to people. Great idea, Dominique!
Goodness! I thought I was the only one out there who bought multiple frames. I have several for different reasons. My husband thinks I am crazy. Thank you so much for doing this video. Definitely an eye opener! Be blessed!
Great glasses 🤓 I love someone so expert at this glasses choosing. I hate choosing glasses for me as my face is kind of round. It’s a hassle for round face ladies.
interesting...the glasses the optometrist is wearing seem very low..eyes should be in the centre and a bit higher in the lens..the top of the frame cuts the top of eye
Great vid on how to choose your perfect frames. I used to go to an optician to fill my lenses but $500+ for a single pair of glasses is too much on most salaries especially if you are retired. So filling thru an online or local low cost prescription eyewear company is a good option for those on a budget. Their prices are very reasonable and make buying a second pair not only possible but a great idea as a backup.
Hi Dominique, thanks for taking us on a road trip. Would you be able to pay a visit to your stylist to discuss how to take care of aging hair? Mostly for what we can do about thinning hair, thoughts on continuous coloring or going gray and how to do that. I’m 63 and I still color treat, but wonder how damaging that is and at some point do I just embrace the gray or are more women deciding to keep coloring as they mature. . The whole “growing out” process seems so daunting. Thanks for all you do.
Very helpful and informative, as always Dominique. I learned the hard way when I bought two sets of glasses online. The prices and frames are great but the fit is off (even with the proper measurements). I had to go to an eyeglass store to have them both adjusted along with the ear piece part which was off balance. Next time I’m going in person lol. You look beautiful in all of your glasses.. your face fits so many styles and shapes. 💜
This was extremely helpful! I actually just went to the eye doctor on Tuesday of this week, and I certainly could have used these nuggets of advice. Ah well, I am more knowledgeable now for my next visit. Many thanks and God bless.
A very helpful video - trying glasses on is always a minefield of difficulties for most of us. I have a very petite face and ladies frames rarely fit or suit me. My choices are always limited before I even start on face shape, brows etc! 😊. Thanks for this.
BRAVO, thank you!!!! Never wore glasses in my life and now in my 50's I need glasses. Yikes have no clue where to start. When I saw your new glasses, hoping you would do a guide on picking out the correct glasses. Thank you Sweetie LOVE your Channel!!!!!
Great video and source of information. I was just in Houston last week visiting my son and working with two design clients and wished I would have known about this eyeglass place while there. I am in desperate need for new glasses but that is always a challenge trying to find the perfect frame for my face. I might have to make that drive back to Houston JUST so that I can have the proper assistance with finding the perfect frame. Thanks once again for sharing!
this was a really helpful video! really nice of you dr. to show different patients as well. On a side note (and taken the right way I hope) I have decided that I like you best with bangs. You are a young looking lady, but bangs make you really young and SASSY!
This was great. I have a terrible time shopping for glasses because everything looks huge on me. I like her ideas on frame colors to blend with hair colors.
Your video will help so many that are looking for glasses. They do need to fit your face shape. Measurements are key, especially if you need bifocals. Love your frames Dominique, they fit your personality and style beautifully. Hugs.... Sherry
Very helpful! IDEA: If you have any experience in this area I'd love to see a video from you on how you manage cellulite (thigh/butt is always tough) - you look fabulous in your vacation vlog! It doesn't seem to matter how much I workout I can't get it to tighten.
