Glaswegian accent 

As a non-native English speaker trying to learn English, this accent is the final boss.

I thought the first guy was speaking French at first.

That was actually quite easy by Glaswegian standards

As a Scottish person from the west I was horrified when I thought it was the first guy who was the glaswegian and I couldn't understand a word

The guy was speaking extra clear to be understood easily.

From the US here. I work with a couple Scots and I can't understand them. Nobody here can. Nicest guys you ever met but hard to comprehend.

I'll be moving to glasgow this sept for my study. Now I'm afraid if I cant understand a single word from my lectures 😐

It took me 15 months living in Glasgow before I could understand them without having to concentrate hard while listening to them.

Okay it's easy to understand the second guy but the first person, I felt like I was having a stroke trying to understand what he was saying until I read the comments & found out he was speaking Polish 🤦‍♂️

I only had the accent for my first few years then we moved to Canada. I can almost always understand the accent having grown up with parents speaking that way. Funny thing though I was always surprised when after coming to my house several times friends would tell me me they couldn’t understand what my parents were saying. One even said when they talk she just smiles & nods her head.

As a foreigner myself, I find it so interesting for a different English accent. And I wonder how you guys can communicate each other? Let’s say a person from Liverpool and Edinburg? kkk

We usually understand eachother. English, Welsh, Irish, Scottish. It would have to be a very strong accent to not understand.

New Yorker here. My great grandfather was Glaswegian and my dad says he could never understand a thing his grandfather said. Watching this video I understand why. 😂

It's no coincidence the Scottish gentleman felt the way he did about the Polish friend he just knew half a hour ago, Scottish and Polish people are mostly kind and sincere people. Of course I'm not including the English here, those adjectives aren't nowhere near describing them...

As a native English speaker, I had to concentrate very hard to understand him, and that's not even the worst Glaswegian accent I've heard. This man is downright eloquent in comparison!
