I may be in the minority but I think the colour would have come out better on the porcelain if you applied it a bit thicker. This glaze is developed as brush on, so I feel one pour doesn’t truly reflect the same thickness that three generous brush on coats would bring
Earth Nation Ceramics I love all your reviews but I must have missed that one. Let me go have a look! Also side note: i think it’s a little crazy that we need to pile on a glaze so much to make it look properly. They are not cheap!!
The green-brown combination you got on the two plates is very nice indeed and deserves to be retained and used! The crystalline growth in the brown compliments the green nicely! I always had my students test both ways: A over B and B over A. Have you tried this combination with the green glaze under the brown? It is usually a different look - sometimes great, sometimes not so great - but from the same two glazes.
Emerald Falls is one of my favs. I think it needs to go on a bit thinner. However, whenever I’ve used it I’ve noticed the color lighter than the bottle. 🤷🏼♀️
I agree with the first comment that emerald falls need more thickness to achieve that darkness and variation. Also if you don’t already, try a hold with your bisque maybe 30-35 min to cut down on your bloating wit dark clay.
People often layer these glazes for a run effect or a combination. A lot of people will often mix these two or layer them in order to find the combinations. The company even has a lot of them written down because they've done some experimentation themselves.
looked like a good video...but honestly, I would rather hear YOU than emenem or the rap music. save that for the radio/sirius/mtv your knowledge and instructions are more valuable than listening to that background music
