Glazunov - Symphony No 5 in B flat major, Op 55 - Mravinsky 

He was just a kid in short pants when his 1st symphony was premiered successfully. His music is always listenable. I like his 4th and 7th symphonies in particular. Listen to the opening of the 4th, infused with a sense of melancholy, or the pastoral sound of the 7th. It's amazing the man reached his 70th year, considering his appetite for vodka. Mussorgsky was not so fortunate.

The influence of the teacher Rimski is clear on the art of orchestration. As for the musical inspiration in itself, I am not sure that we have to look for inspiration sources, Glazunov was highly gifted and simply catched the atmosphere of the time. I could speak of examples, at maximum.

...И в Японии кашляют на концерте... Да, Оркестр БЫЛ первоклассный....Годы расцвета....Исполнение живое, а Музыка свежая , дыхание широкое,спокойное .... Могучий был композитор Глазунов ,но писал легко, свежо,как будто играючи....Музыка его --его портрет...!
