Take a moment to see and and hear the, "Lighthouse Vargan," by Glazyrin and why it is a good beginner bass harp. Harp can be found at link www.theharpery.com/glazyrin/
Thanks for the review Harpery! i have some experience with jawharps and was looking for something slightly deeper/breathing/shamanic and from this video i really love the sounds your getting.
Thanks so much for all your videos! A couple of weeks ago I did barely know what a jaw harp is. Then a video of тюрген Кам pukled me into the topic of throat singing and Khomus. I learned so much from your videos, ordered my first harps and can‘t wait to start playing.
I bought one after seeing this review and got it today. Wow! It's such a extreme difference in quality compared to the cheap beginner one I had before. I'm glad I started with that though, because the light house is really much more easy to play on! :-)
Just got mine today and I adore it. Always been a fan of bassier instruments, and it strums so smoothly too. I can't seem to get the breathing techniques down, but I can strum it fairly quickly. I just gotta practice the breathing a bit more, I find myself defaulting one tune I'm extremely familiar with. Even if I experiment and branch out my muscle memory switches back to that original tune. Just gotta keep practicing is all!
As I was saying in your last live sesh, I just ordered this as my first, by "luck." I saw a top ten video of yours while it was shipping and was glad I chose the right one. I got it having never played before. I may have tried about three 5 minute sessions with a little thinking in between before I was confident enough to be weird on social media. And not much more time invested to now play without sparks flying off my teeth lol
Yes I love the Lighthouse, in terms of bang of the buck...it's one of the best...I probably played it the most these days. I like the softer reed. The only other one I'm considering is the Alpha, based upon your review. I have two other non but similar Glazyrin harps so not looking to go up in size too much since I've got it covered there. I have some Pokens on the way which I'm excited in terms of increasing my speed. At this point I'm stoked about learning all the various mouth/tongue/throat positions. There's so much to learn but that's what makes the jaw harp so much fun. Thanks again.
I just ordered this as my very first harp, which I will receive soon. So I'll see how it turns out as my learning harp. I actually ordered it on impulse without much research (or even hearing it first, had no idea there was such diversity to harps!) But I am thrilled I got this one, because it has a fantastic bassy sound, much better than many others I've heard, especially for the price.
Just bought this one as my first harp. I remember as a kid watching the movie white fang and a character plays one. Always thought it was so interesting!
I just got mine today!!! So excited... i've had a Snoopy for almost 30 years now. Before I saw your channel I had never known that better ones were out there. There's a little sticker on the reed that I don't understand. It has an odd arrow pointing up and right then "A" then a slash and then two Russian characters that translate to what I find as "L" and "ja"... Does anyone know what this means?
Just wanted to say thank you. Not only for all of your super informative videos and comparisons but for making a video sample of all the harps you sell! I settled on the lighthouse for my first harp after watching your videos and listening to every harp on your site. Cant wait for it to arrive but luckily since i went through your site i dont have to wait for shipping from russia haha worth every penny!
Hi there! I want to buy this compass, but have no idea about in what note I should buy it. What note is the one you are playing or what would you recommend? And would you recommend the lighthouse or the wave? I'd like some loudness and more possibilities. I started off with a cheap generic one, time to take it to the next level. :) Thanks a lot!
