GLEE - Full Performance of Broadway Baby. Originally performed by: Cast of Follies. Sung by: Rachel Berry/Lea Michele and Blaine Anderson/Darren Criss. Episode: 5x15 "Bash".
Blaine, yes. The gap between him and the other main guys(with the exception of Artie) was far too wide. But Rachel had stiff competition from Santana and was surpassed by Mercedes undoubtedly.

I don't understand why Madame Tibideaux bothered to listen to the whole performance. It's a little out of character. She's the kind of woman that doesn't like her time being wasted. She interrupted Rachel when she first auditioned for NYADA and choked. Why did Madame Tibideaux listen to Rachel and Blaine's whole performance this time, if she did not want a duet?
The routine is quite camp, and there doesn't seem to be any sexual chemistry between them, but that's because she doesn't seem to interact with him. That's probably what they meant - either that or they're just jjealous they can't move like him!
I broke. The replay button. I have no idea why but I LOVE THIS SO MUCH OML. IT IS SO CATCHY AND EASY TO PERFORM TO (YES I PERFORM BY MYSELF IN MY ROOM)
Why did they do this ? They should at least have asked if they were allowed to take the critique by doing a duet... Sometimes it feels like Rachel makes everything she can to blow every opportunity off...
Blaine and Rachel’s voices just go well together Blaine is just so versatile from pop to showtunes That was why Finn was so insecured, because Blaine is like the male version of a less dramatic Rachel Berry 😅 Rachel, Blaine, Mercedes, Santana, Jesse, Rodrick, Wade and maybe Artie were like the best vocalists of the glee kids Kurt, Finn, Puck and Tina comes up next
A very good duet by the two most talented performers in the show ! this is my opinion they have a great chemistry! it's not the greatest performance of the show but a very good one!
thank you so much! I've been searching for a good version of this for this for so long!!!!! I'm glad your back and already given us 2 Darren criss songs!
Madame Tibadeux does NOT live up to her reputation of being strict when she gives Rachel so many chances over and over, like this would not happen in the real world! LOL
Well their her students and she's the dean of a university as well as a professional performer (unlike Rachel and Blaine), so....actually a LOT of people care what she thinks. @@Lausanne28
feel like darren and lea are doing shows together now because they realized how fucking good they sounded on glee. this and "don't you want me" are more incredible than i honestly was hoping for, but i cant fault two amazing singers
Right? Everyone constantly complains about how much screen time and how many solos they got but is it not obvious why? They’re easily two of the strongest singers on the show, if not THE strongest in the group of series regulars. Rachel had competition in Mercedes and Santana but I genuinely can’t think of any guy who could rival Darren vocally, aside from Jonathan Groff who was not a series regular. That’s why you see things get handed to Blaine so easily - solos, roles, NYADA. That’s also why I didn’t buy the “Blaine is insecure” storyline because when first introduced he was such a self assured and confident character, it made sense because everyone around him gave him constant validation, and he was much more likable that way. The writers really botched Blaine in the later seasons. He could’ve had struggles but still stayed his confident self instead of being turned into a needy, whiny, insecure mess.
I'm just a Broadway Baby, Walking off my tired feet, Pounding Forty Second Street To be in a show. Broadway Baby, Learning how to sing and dance, Waiting for that one big chance To be in a show. Gee, I'd like to be on some marquee, All twinkling lights, A spark to pierce the dark From Batt'ry Park to Washington Heights. Some day maybe, All my dreams will be repaid. I can get to strut my stuff, Working for a nice man Like a Ziegfeld or a Weissman In a big-time Broadway show! Heck, I'd even play the maid To be in a show. Say, Mister producer, Some girls get the breaks. Just give me my cue, sir. I've got what it takes. Say, Mister Producer, I'm talkin' to you, sir. I don't need a lot, Only what I got, Plus a tube of greasepaint and a follow spot! I'm a Broadway Baby, Slaving at the five and ten, Dreaming of the great day When I'll be in a show. Broadway Baby, Making rounds all afternoon, Eating at a greasy spoon To save on my dough. At my tiny flat there's just my cat, A bed and a chair. Still I'll stick it till I'm on a bill all over Times Square. Some day maybe, If I stick it long enough, I can get to strut my stuff, Work-ing for a nice man Like a Ziegfeld or a Weissman In a big-time Broadway show!
I never understood why Carmen would give Rachel a hard time with her Broadway show. I mean, her starring in a Broadway show just further proves how great of a school NYADA is
They got a second chance to get at least an A-. That's the thing about university work, you give them what they ask for, in your own words but give them the answer to the question they asked for, not an answer to something they never asked for. She was being extremely generous with them.
