Naw they wouldn't have won because everyone still would have just voted for themselves. Artie even voted for himself and he didn't even perform. This was an amazing performance but no one was going to vote it over their own performance.
everything glee_593 hmm, they did an entire episode with Burt Bacharach songs (real classics!) in season 6. I think that the show always knew how to mixed up different styles of music.
Tina and Brittany may not have very strong voices but both can harmonize with just about anyone. Especially since they rarely got the chance to sing on their own, they were constantly just singing back up vocals.
When I was in high school during the early seasons, it made everyone way overdramatic. I think it's interesting to see that it may have influenced your drama experience :)
2:22 the time is an angel number. Means: be in the moment, be present, be aware that you are exactly where you should be right now. You are right, that harmony was disarming and charming!
This duet was meant as an homage to Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. Lea Michele and Chris Colfer were the two old school "Broadway" voices on Glee. It was only natural they sing this duet. Over the years Broadway has changed and the vocal stylings have changed as well. Many of the other singers on Glee were part of the new style of Broadway voices and while they could have sang this duet, it wouldn't have captured the essence of Garland and Streisand.
Everyone looks so genuinely happy when Rachel and Kurt sing their duet and its amazing! Literally Santana looks so happy and soft and open in that moment not to mention Rachel and Kurt are both beaming at each other. Hummelberry is an iconic duo and I’m so thankful for their friendship!
Forget your troubles (Happy days) Come on get happy (are here again) You better chase all your cares away (The skies above are clear again) Shout hallelujah (So let's sing a song) Come on get happy (of cheer again) Get ready for the judgment day (Happy days are here again) The sun is shining Come on get happy (Shout it now) The Lord is waiting to take your hand (There's no one who can doubt it now) Shout hallelujah (So let's tell the world) And just get happy (about it now) We're going to the promise land (Happy days are here again) We're heading across the river Soon your cares will all be gone There'll be no more from now on From now on Forget your troubles (Happy days) And just get happy (are here again) You better chase all your blues away (The skies above are clear again) Shout hallelujah (So let's sing a song) And just get happy (of cheer again) Happy times (Happy times) Happy nights (Happy nights) Happy days Are here again
Their voices sound so good together. And this rendition of this song is perfect for these characters. I just want more and more. I don't thing they sang together enough.
bluedance lilly Not really, they are so similar, that’s why Rachel and Santana were a good friendship bc how different they were and it was funny to watch them, Kurt and Rachel are a bit boring 😪
Oh please ... she's a D-list karaoke version of Streisand ... and BTW, that's Barbra (with only two "a"s). Over 50 yrs. as a living legend and there are some twits who still can't get it right.
this is why i liked him with quinn because he was really at his best when he was with and around quinn they messed up his story arc so badly and they messed up quinns AND FINNS a bit when they decided to put them back together for finchel drama instead of actually doing what the characters would really do and whether one ships them or not they were good friends as well and quinn was there to support him through his financial situation and he was to lift her up after her breakdown ('you deserve good things quinn') even when they weren't together that was one relationship that would have kept in touch even if they'd never date again but it doesn't suprise me since glee also dropped the ball on a lot of other friendships too that were everything quinn/mercedes, mercedes/kurt, sam/kurt and i could go on and on but yeah, they did sam so dirty epsially when he became more of a main character but he was more likable when he was more minor. he was always goofy but not dumb HE KNEW THE WHOLE AVATAR LANGUAGE like???
every day, before i go to sleep, i listen to this song, i love it so much, i miss them, i miss what glee made me feel, its a reminder that things are gonna be better, and happy days are coming best duet , barbra and judy would be proud
That's just about as close to perfection on a duet as any two could ever get... the last 5 notes were really unbelievable! And for Chris to be able to sustain those really high notes is even more impressive!
In my 60+ years of watching tv, this is one of my most favorite scenes. So reminiscent of Barbra's and Judy's original. I think if this performance so fondly.
I don't think Aime was implying Kurt was straight. They were saying that they wished more straight guys dressed classically and clean cut the way Kurt does in the show. Not to say there aren't straight guys who do, but they wish there were more.
I still remember the original live television performance of this mashup on the Judy Garland show with Barbra 60 years ago. It was that indelible on one’s memory. So when this happened on Glee, it wasn’t just Lea copying Barbra’s movements and vocals, Chris was copying Judy’s as well. That’s what made it so perfect. (And the first song mashup I ever heard, though that term wasn’t in use then).
One of my favorite duets! all in softness! they are so great in broadways! so smooth, it's a true gift for our ears and I'm huge fan of Lea! their duet is a true tribute to the original one!
They did this cover when I was at a very low and dark place... but when I heard this I cried and told myself it's going to be alright. I got help to battle with my depression and I'm managing it pretty well now... Glee with this one unassuming song kept me from taking my life that night, and to this I was going to skip that episode when it aired to muster the courage to end it all... God will send you a message HOT n' Ready like a Little Ceasar's pizza 🙌🙌🙌
So I watched the original out of curiosity and Judy actually does that leg kick that Chris does at the end, so Chris was really on point, and honestly, that just makes me love him even more.
