Cough Syrup is defo one of the Glee covers that’s better than the original. The contrast between Blaine singing and Karofsky’s suicide attempt... ugh so powerful.

Oh, this episode had me SHOOK. "Cough Syrup" is definitely one of the most memorable performances in the show - performed by none other than the amazing Darren Criss. Karofsky did a full 180 in my books. Ugh, my heart.

That speech about Season 3 being wild right before this episode is just hilariously brilliant timing.

Cough syrup is branded in every Gleeks mind, as a jaw droppingly incredible cover, and horrifically powerful moment

I remember the show went on hiatus after this episode and the fandom went WILD over whether Quinn would die or not. It was brutal. And I was on vacation in the Black Forest when the next episode finally did come out and I had to find ways to stream it with super crappy internet. Good times.

Honestly I really like what Sebastian did many bullies don't regret their actions but they always come with consequences and he realized that

Honestly, this is one of those episodes that makes me remember why I loved Glee so much. No matter its flaws and some problematic, underdeveloped storylines. I grew up with this show. It meant so much to me. Still does. I love it.

Darren is the best! Cough Syrup is one of my favorite solos on the show. Joe didn’t appreciate the beauty of it enough.

They have so many good songs this episode. Cough syrup is one of my favorites, glad you came, and all 3 songs the new directions did lol. I always cry during the cough syrup scene. When Quinn was driving I knew she would be in a car accident but it still was sad to see and still is. I’d love to see you reacting to the songs at the end of the show that you’ve rated as a 10. That’s a great idea.

I remember when I watched this when it aired. I was so mad about Quinn getting that crash! I mean she was becoming a cheerio again! She’s my favorite character

This is gonna sound dark, but I remember watching this episode and being astonished that so many of the kids said they didn’t understand why someone would consider suicide. When I was watching the show I was 13/14 and seeing that most of these juniors and seniors in high school had never gotten “to that point” was quite a shock to myself as someone who had been severely depressed for long enough and regularly enough that I basically just assumed that everyone was suicidal every once in a while. Honestly made me think I should seek therapy. Which I did for a while... that’s a while other story though.

This episode was honestly the best for music, especially Cough Syrup (honestly my fav song in the series), What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, Glad you came,and fly. Makes me so happy you liked it

Karofsky honestly not only turned into my favorite character, but favorite actor on the show after this episode. I literally had to skip the suicide attempt because once was enough. At this point I just wanted to shower him with friendliness and acceptance and wished he was a real person so he wouldn't feel alone x.x

The contrast between how glee mishandles some subjects but then nails others is astounding

I don't think you fully understand why Will gave Roy peanut butter. David tried to kill himself and Will wanted the class to know that there's sooo much in life that they haven't tried yet. Roy never had peanut butter before & Will was saying "if you died today you wouldn't of been able to try something new

Karofsky’s suicide attempt had me SOBBING

What always bothered me about Sebastian's apology was that he never said sorry to Kurt. Kurt was Sebastian's original target. If Blaine hadn't of ruined Sebastian's plan and jumped in front of Kurt, it would've been Kurt with the damaged eye. And all those snide remarks and blatant insults? Sebastian never apologized for any of it.

This is still one of my favourite Glee episodes ever. I still remember when it first aired, the Dave storyline and scenes really had an impact and Darren Criss's cover of Cough Syrup was perfect

Blaine's solo was my fave song of the season. karovskys attempt was so sad cause that boy is a great actor.

So you have to imagine that there was a break after this episode. Everyone was going fucking wild on the Glee blogs, people were stalking Diana to see if she was still going on set to make sure she was alive, people were harassing the writers telling them how much they sucked for what they were doing to Quinn. I remember crying so hard during the commercial break after "Kablosky" tried to commit suicide, my mom was ironing some clothes next to me. It's the most vivid memory I have from Glee.

Giving peanut butter to someone who has never eaten it before is a game of anaphylactic roulette. Schue could have killed Rory or what Joe might call a lost opportunity.

I really hope you continue watching glee after season 3. Even though it's not as good as the other seasons it's worth watching imo and there are some episodes that you just cannot miss

Honestly haven't watched Glee in years but this episode with Cough Syrup (Darren killed it!) alongside Karofsky's suicide attempt still brings tears to my eyes.

Trivia: Darren Criss put his heart in the performance of Cough Syrup as not to let down the sequence, as he was amazed by Max Adler (Dave Karofsky)'s acting. I feel like Karofsky should've been recurring in the early season instead of just sent to another school and rarely reappearing.

That was a fantastic episode and the ending gave me chills.

This national competition are one of my favorite. I remember we have to wait a very long time between this episode and the next one when its came out I do not remember why.

So I looked up who wrote this episode of Glee and it was Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa who is now apparently the showrunner of Riverdale? That's concerning. Great ep though and the next one is another one of my favourites.

is one of the best episodes glee has, When they link Blaine's song "Cough Syrup" (one of the best songs sung on glee) with Karofsky scene is something that just touches you, writers really knew how to handle feelings . and of course the conversation of kurt with Karofsky where you can see the evolution of the character and how the currency changes, and this episode contributed to both the lgtbt community and bulling in general.

When I was done watching Glee forever(after Seasons 1 through 4, as far as I'm concerned, the so-called next two never happened), I memorized a lot of things. Including what characters I believed were the worst ones and indeed thought had the greatest chance of having harm or even death wished on them by the audience. Now, Cooter Menkins from "Choke" was definitely up there, given his acts of domestic violence...in fact, he was in second place. But who can be worse than the one who performed acts of domestic violence? How about the ones who outed Dave Karofsky as being gay, used vandalizing his locker as a means to put a nasty rhymes-with-bag in front of him and mercilessly mocked and disrespected him on Facebook and, even after he was pushed so far he attempted suicide, though thankfully was saved by his father in time, continued to cyberbully him, including telling him to try again as part of it? Yeah, there were some awful characters on Glee, but IMO, of all of the said bad guys who didn't die in the show, no one would deserve it more than Dave Karofsky's bullying schoolmates.

Joe, I do like your reactions (no matter what people say) but I really really try not to get angry when you talk when they're saying something important and then you complain about something that they already explained (while you were talking). That's all, no hate or anything. Also, I also love the Kurt at the hospital with Karofsky scene :)

honestly? they should've put more focus on karofsky's suicide attempt. it's such an important issue, especially for lgbtq+ teens. they should've THROWN THE PEANUT BUTTER SCENE IN THE GARBAGE.

I think you’re still confused with the timeline, each episode takes place around a week the same amount time for the glee club’s assignment period

New directions getting 3 songs all the time is so unfair but gotta love those performance's. Especially now that the troublestones are in the club again. Also its karoFsky not karovlsky. And he's story is absolutely perfect, I feel like nowdays doing the "homophobe is actually gay" story doesn't work since that king of lgbt rep isn't wanted, but this being the first show to do it so well helps it a lot. Also the cough syrup is a 10/10 Darren's favorite performance for me. Can you imagine us having to wait MONTHS after this mid season break?! It was hell, but the crash with quinn was very well done
