My father passed away two months ago of dementia and Alzheimer's as well as other medical problems. His 90th birthday will be in September. He had and never lost his personality. He forgot a lot most things. But always remembered me and his wife, my mom. He and she adopted me, my twin brother and my other sister when they were im there 50's and 60's. After raising 8 kids of their own. I was there to help him get set up for in home Hospice and take care of him. Sadly I wasn't there when he passed, just a week after I left. But even with his dementia and Alzheimer's, I knew he knew and remembered me. The last thing he said to me was "you're my baby girl, you're so pretty". I just told him I was going for a drive. I knew I wouldn't see him again. But he was happy and ok. He knew what was happening, in some way. It was a beautiful moment that I will always cherish.

This broke my heart the first time I saw it and still does. RIP, dear Glenn. I pray for his family. This is such a beautiful homage to his life and those he loved.

He went on a last concert tour with his daughter after they knew about the alzheimer's diagnosis. Great country singer. He also had his most famous acting role in True Grit with John Wayne. People often forget that really good singers can all act as well. It is part of their craft at drawing you into the songs.

I saw him on this tour in Saratoga, California, second row center-stage. He was INCREDIBLE. His daughter was kind enough to have him autograph my Telecaster after the show.. A night neither my wife nor I will forget. R.I.P. sir.

I knew you weren't ready for it by the intro you gave but was glad to see that you understood by the end of the song. Incredibly deep song and beautifully done. Glen's singing was great, but my favorite thing about him were his incredible guitar skills! There is a video of him playing the "William Tell Overture" that will blow your socks off! (Even if you have shoes on too.)

Thank you so much for reacting to this great tribute to a true legend. I grew up listening to his music. Glen Campbell was one of the most talented entertainer & guitarist in the world. This awful disease of Alzheimer's affects everyone from all walks of life. It robs people of their hopes & dignity. And it is even worse for the caregivers.

I had requested this song earlier. He went on a 16 month tour, which near the end he had much difficulty getting through. He was able to play guitar through muscle memory as he had been playing since childhood. And he was instrumental in the song writing for many artists. Gone too soon!

This song breaks my heart, both for Glen and my husband, whom I lost to Alzheimers two years ago. You lose them long before they actually die, and it's unbearable to watch. It's a beautiful yet simple song which says it all.

He's "Not Gonna Miss You" but we certainly miss him! To watch him sing this knowing what he knew is just heartbreaking, but it's beautiful with the memories shared in the video! He was also one of the best musicians ever!

My wife's mother is now in the loop phrase of asking the same question 25 times. It's hard on my wife and daughters. She puts furniture to barricade herself in. Terrified and scared this is a terrible disease. I now terrify her so I cannot help. Remember always stay calm, but somedays we all cry together.

OMG, this breaks my heart everytime I hear it. Got the tissues out and I would suggest you get some. Heartbreaking ....it's from the point of view of a person that has Altzheimers and once it affects a person, eventually they will not recognize anyone. So hearbreaking. When he did his farewell tour, people couldn't understand how he could still play all his instruments flawlessly. Expert Doctors said that since Glen had played the guitar for so long and so amazingly, it was like breathing for him which is why he could do it without thinking. On his farewell tour, his daughter who was playing the guitar/banjo kept him line and it wasn't secretive their talking in front of the audience as she'd say 'Dad, we already played that song' which kept him on track and his son was the drum player. Gets me everytime.

I followed this story so closely. My mom was diagnosed with dementia shortly after Glen's illness became public. Glen's daughter Ashley Campbell wrote the most wonderful song called "Remembering". It gutted me and helped me heal. It can be found here on youtube.

I'm watching someone I love go through this now, and it's a horrible disease. It robs you of everything you care about until it finally takes your life, and it's really hard to watch someone you care about slowly lose it all. The worst is that they know it's happening and they're scared because they know that every day will be incrementally worse for them.

Glen had such a great voice and was a great guitar player also. Too many hits to just pick one. Rhinestone Cowboy, Wichita Lineman, By the Time I Get To Phoenix, Gentle On My Mind.

Not really a Glen Campbell fan, but this song makes me cry. It reminds me of Keep Me in Your Heart by Warren Zevon. Technically it's probably not the last song he recorded (it's part of a full last album), but, the lyrical content, the tempo, the simplicity and delivery of the vocals all are very similar.

Man my Wife and I own and operate 2 A.l.f.s and it's probably the most heart breaking thing to watch those people we care for decline this way it's even harder for the families to see.

He had Alzheimer's. So he wouldn't remember his loves so he won't miss them. What an exquisite ending to a sad ending.

Can't wait to you react to Tim Faust's new song (cover), from his new album. "Come go with me" is a jolly happy 50's bop-a-long song.

You should watch this trailer of the documentary that was made for and with Glen Campbell. It'll put things in perspective when you listen to the song, which is part of that documentary. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CC374jwyrkM.html
