This choke actually works really well. I almost choked my partner out while I was still practicing the technique. Right now I'm still working on entry techniques. I used it in competition about a week ago when I botched a Kimura lock, but I DO still need plenty of entry technique work. I find this choke to be remarkably tight. Very very nice.
I have never seen this with both people standing. You can however get it from mount. Its quite common to isolate an arm if you want to go for something like an arm triangle choke. From there you can attack with this choke but since the arm triangle choke seems heavily favored in bjj and mma I assume it is easier to execute and gives your opponent less opportunities to escape. Alternatively you can attack with this from the gift wrap position as seen here ru-vid.com7aJTeAYcdS8?feature=share
@theobelix876 yea, well after that, he was no more. It was terrifying for me though. I like glen levy because he does things I've never seen before. i love the little tricks he does and I hope I can use them as self defense some day. if only I could learn from him.
You can't go from an Americana to this choke because you'll be on the wrong side. That being said though, this will work from side control. Hell, it may even work from guard.
Duck and twist to counter this. This tech will only work if the head and body are isolated. Might work on the ground from top half guard. Won't work standing against anyone who knows what they are doing.
Three Nah sorry man, there's a few things people are calling the Cobra Choke. Tito did the one that looks similar to a guillotine, no arm wrap involved at all. There's footage of Tito's out there somewhere.
I have been doing jiujitsu for about 10 years now... doing this while standing up will only work against a woman or someone with string bean arms and a weak neck.
For the people saying this doesn't work....are you people that daft? This is NINJITSU. It's not meant to go head to head with. Ninjitsu is literally what it's been known for. Silence, patience timing and technique, pressure points. Anything to take out a target silently in a devastating way. Glen himself knows the Din Mak, but barely ever performs it. I don't even think he teaches it because it's too risky.
I had an ex boyfriend who, during an arguement, threw me on my bed and began to choke me. almost killed me but If i had been able to do this or another move in a lying down position, maybe he wouldnt have been able to hurt me. I wish to learn this.
doesn t work! On the bed take first a guard position, put something between you and him like the knees, otherwise close the distance so he can t hit you and never stop the hit with all you can, to the face and genitals
@@salsa4umoudrik141 pulling guard only works in jits when there is no striking.... plus if he is choking her and is heavier than her, pulling guard w.ll just help him. Feet on his hips then push kick him off, then running out of there grabbing a weapon is the only option.
