A brief tour of The Dirty Tug, a 1993 Glen-L Hercules. 24ft long, 8ft beam. Perkins 27HP diesel inboard. Straight shaft. Set up for cruising the ICW Please like and subscribe. It really helps...
Brother I just subscribed. I like the dirty tug. I like the way you've configured things to utilize every inch of space. I have two questions. What is the top and cruising speed ? How much fuel can you carry and what is the cruising range. I love this boat. I would love to own such a craft. I'm an old codger stuck in a bed. You seem like a nice guy so I'm going to vicariously ride along with you. I'm looking forward to sharing your adventures. Best of luck, Jerry
Hello there Jerry. The DT was a fun project and yes a lot packed into a little space. I took her to Florida about three years ago but I sold her once I was there to continue wandering the planet. Currently in Thailand. As far as her fuel she had two 40 gallon fuel tanks so 80 total and got 20 MPG! So in reality could have gone to Florida with just one fill up! I always kept them topped up for ballast. To comment on speed I think one time with good wind and tide I hit just over 9mph! Lol. But in typically I cruised around 7. Thanks for the sub, take care, Pete
