This song, in its original version here, has been my lifes' song. It takes me back to the 70s-80s, and helps me through the generations past, present, and a future ahead. I've traveled the seas, and this year I plan to travel the USA. Fun times ahead.

Even tho over the years we watch each of our idols age, (and bald) they're still special in our hearts. He still has the voice. I loved this band then and now.
Glenn has been one of those performers that has always hit the high and low notes since he first hit the Australian Musical Market and continues to do so today. Everything he song he sings from the heart and brings his soul to make each song succeed where others are unable to do this. He is a Master of his craft and I truely hope he continues. Take a bow Mr Shorrock, your music and singing ability is truely recognised.
Yes they are older...I guess, we all grow older with time. But that's what makes life so precious! We enjoy our youth or we should appreciate it while it's here. I grew up listening to Little River Band and now I am 48. At least the older ones can say we're a bit wiser now...lol Anyway...it was good to hear these familiar sounds again and thank you guys for all the years of entertaining us :)
Glen Shorrock was absolutely the nicest, most sincere artist I met in the music industry in the late 1970s; he deserves more acclaim for his talent. artistry, and originality than he (most likely) has received; I am very glad to have stumbled across this 2007 live recording and wish him well
I spent a lot of time on my grandfather's boat growing up. I was always on the water and when this song came out I played the shit out of it. Really brings back memories
Shorrock knows how to put on a good show. In June-July 2011 he did a tour of the pubs here in New Zealand with Jason Kerrison (of Kiwi band Opshop - and half Shorrock's age!) and ran through a number of LRB hits (this one got plenty of the crowd up the front dancing - he altered the arrangements on a few, referencing NZ locations into the lyrics), along with a few rock and roll covers. Incredibly energetic on stage-as soon as he was off stage he and Kerrison mixed in with the audience.
Great set of pipes....nothing like him has come along in years. Almost worth hopping on a plane to see one of the five live shows he's doing in OZ over the next couple of weeks....
It's the unique, evocative voice of Glenn Shorrock that set LRB apart and made people fall in love with their music. Without him, they make nice music...with him, you feel every line, every note, right down to your toes.

Yes! I agree with that. Glen is. As an American who grew up in the ACT I have to say that this song is my all time fave of all songs, any songs.. I relate to it, I feel it. Thanks Glenn and LRB for making my life in Australia so special. And show Countdown for showing me what the world and the country has to offer ;)
@danielskennedy Glenn refers to his current hairstyle as a 'reverse mohawk'... He certainly doesn't seem old when he's on stage, when I saw him in concert recently...
I just watched the live version from 83 and OMG what happened to this mans good looks and flowing hair? He still has that great voice. I know we all age and that is fucked. I hate getting old. I hate seeing my music die each and every day. I hate to see my big screen heros pass away day after day. I hate to see todays so called artists ruin music as i know it. What ever happened along the way from Chuck Berry to todays shit.
I will have the pleasure of seeing them for my birthday this year in Kettering Ohio and I can't wait. I have always loved listening to them. Makes me feel calm and loved. Thanks for sharing this.

Forgot all about the LRB after Shorrock left in the 80's I had the First Under The Wire Album, also Sleeper Catcher , saw them Live London Ontario Gardens , during the the First Under The Wire tour, great concert. Now recently the new movie with Will Farrel , and MArk Walberg called The Other Guys, came out and there is a few funny scenes with LRB playing in the car , what great songs these guys wrote . Cool Chnage was voted one of the Top Australian Songs of All Time...
