Unusual to see the old Volvo in Glenorchy!
The tandems struggle a bit with the tight spaces. This truck normally operates in Kingborough. ‪@wasteintasmania‬ has heaps of great videos of this truck if you want to see some more and better footage of it!
96 is a bit battered for a relatively new truck, not sure why but I have been told that Hobart's new Volvos are already starting to chew themselves apart. The Volvos radiate a lot more heat than the Accos do as well, you can feel it from the footpath! 96 has a fluid leak/weep from the hydraulic oil tank in this video. It is pretty common for the GenV style tanks to get cracks in them.

Nice mate, got one of my trucks, love it, was waiting for some footage of these Volvo Buchers from someone else. Surprised you found it out there, though 96 has been roaming quite a bit recently. They sure do let out a lot of heat, can get very warm standing in one spot with units, and definitely struggles in tighter areas, especially in those real tight cup-de-sacs in Glenorchy. That first spot delivery shows how underpowered those base 280 engines are, super prominent with 97 when it’s full of garbage. 96 still showcasing its very squeaky arm haha 😂, you always hear the arm before the truck, very easy to recognise which truck it is without even seeing it haha. Don’t think I’ve seen that driver before, don’t think he’s from down here which would make sense that he seemed to struggle a bit with this one, apparently many of the new drivers find the 4x2 GenVs much easier, and less ‘techy’ Funny that you got a truck from Kingborough and I got a truck from Glenorchy in such a small time gap. Cheers mate! I was surprised too - I would have thought they would send 61 or 70 out instead! Haha it does, really struggled on that hill - and the truck was empty! I love that arm squeak - and yep, I could hear it from way before I could hear any engine noise! Yeah I think this driver is the fill in for Glenorchy, same bloke I filmed in #71110 on FOGO, I think he does that pretty regularly and is pretty much always in the SPAK. They have a whole heap of sensors and weird stuff in these I think like you said, and all the controls are on the screen. It is mate haha, cheers!
