For a small town, it has a lot going for it; a theatre, cinema, golf course, swimming pool, sports centre, it’s own hospital, brand new whisky distillery, small football stadium, large public park and even an airport. Not many towns out there can say the same
They didn't show the flats in Tanshall that look like something from East Germany before the wall came down. I used to live in the block at Elgin Drive before they bulldozed it.
Remember guy next door playing Buddy Holly until 2am and emptying his rubbish down the chute that ran down the side of my bedroom. Lot of really nice people there just a bit down on their luck.
Born and raised in Glenrothes the people are very nice and friendly I never had any issues, not just that the town it's self is more wheelchair friendly
Been here almost 20 years since moving on with my mrs. I have never really warmed to it. She has lived here all her life and says she will never leave. It feels like a spiders web and Its still a pile of shite.
They had to pick the worst part down at the bowling alley to pan the camera around. That would be like someone showing a pick of an arsehole and saying "you wouldn't take that on a date, would you?"
I've lived in Glenrothes for a year now and I'm sorry to say it hasnt got a lot going for it. There is a lot of empty shops in the Kingdom Center and all the buildings within the town are ugly blocks of concrete. I notice theres a lot of floral displays to counteract the pile of shite award but no amount of flora and fauna can disguise the fact that there is no money in this town. As soon as the mines closed down the money went else where and its been a slow decline ever since.
I came back to Scotland as I born there in the fifties .kirkaldy from London I was treated as a foreigner . I worked on the building sites of Glen Rothes and I just sensed then something don't ad up
I mean, it seems to me that people do very much like to complain, so I feel like it's being somewhat exaggerated to how horrible Glenrothes really is. There are certain parts of Glenrothes that are horrific, certain people too. That may be the case, but not everything and everyone is bad. I mean in my area most of us are alright, and in my high school, our senior year students seems to get better by the year. I feel like change for the good is coming - a massive amount of people stayed on at school compared to previous years and we're all getting really good grades and going off and getting nice jobs and the such. I think Glenrothes is alright. :P
I live here in Glenrothes, ulthough I live further up the town...I have to admit the town isn't the best but since this it has gotten better and I do love Glenrothes so much!
Actually Kirkcaldy is worse now!. In both towns yesterday and Kirkcaldy is dead compared to Glenrothes. However BOTH of them leave a lot to be desired!. Head to St Andrews instead is my advice, preferably in the summer months!.
actually they showed the bit of the town centre with fuck all at it. Inside it is pretty nice especially at christmas. Its not even the best bit of glenrothes. They know nothing.
the only reason people talk crap about it is because they've never lived there for a long time I've lived there my whole life and it was wonderful growing up there the schools are fantastic and so is the scenery it's such a pleasant little town and deserves more love
