It would have been better if I'd described it that way, for best detail. I shot the video very quickly, and used as simple language as possible. The A/B lever is indeed introduced to pilots as a control for adjusting the glideslope, with pitch control used for airspeed. To deny that the A/B slows the glider down, however, is incorrect; the introduction of flat plates to airflow will of course immediately decelerate the glider. How the pilot manages this ancillary effect, is up to him... be it holding VNE at bay in quick descents, killing speed during touch down / ground run, etc.
@@CharlieBriggsUK Charlie, ANYONE on the face of the earth that watches the video will notice that bit, and be curious as to WTH? It's very weird for a grown man to stop mid sentence start barking like a dog. Sorry, just a fact!!
Please help me understand what I'm missing. Is it an inside joke among glider pilots? Some form of movie reference? I'll be lost in thought, suffering until I find out the answer haha
The K-13 is a fantastic machine, with a low stall speed and min. sink. A great trainer, holds up fine on tasks and provides some welcome variation in a scene where all the glass gliders look very much alike.
