This is a good question. The term palisade refers to the histology pattern where nuclei become non-randomly arranged within a tumor and they align neatly to form a "picket fence" like arrangement. When these occur within the native tumor morphology, like in a schwannoma, the term palisade is appropriate. When they occur secondary to necrosis, like in a glioblastoma, pseduo-palisade is more descriptive and appropriate. Hope this helps!
