I think it’s definitely interesting. I don’t think it will really affect Glitch Production that much, but I’m still nervous to see what happens in the future…
@@Yagsterr Since it’s basically just on another platform and they didn’t sell their soul (*cough cough spindlehorse*) I think it’s an overall net positive. It brings in more exposure and increases its popularity. I hope that Murder Drones will also get added to Netflix as it would also massively boost its popularity. (and maybe increase the chances at a season 2???) Also if MD doesn’t get added to Netflix I’m might start believing the “TADC killed MD” crowd ngl.
I would totally say my thoughts but the people in this community generally dont like when you disagree with them, In short though i think Digital Circus is becoming a cash grab.
I mean as long as the indie side of things isn't changed much I think overall it's a good thing especially if it can bring more popularity to Glitch shows
@@Yagsterr it's really surprising that they decided to do this. I'm glad that Goose still has full control and I believe that there is more positive than negative. I think that Netflix wanted to reach out to its teen audience, but found it too difficult to do without flopping.(All the teen movies are shit, trust me) So, they looked online and found tadc. Since Netflix has to pay a hefty fee for licensing (which is all they got) Glitch now has more money to produce tadc and gd. I take this as a win for us.
So uhh, TADC is coming to Netflix. Before I found the people who blamed TADC’s success for MD not getting a second season, and I found the people who complained about MD getting overshadowed kinda annoying. But now that TADC is gonna be on Netflix… I kinda am started to slightly agree with them. It seems like everything MD gets, TADC gets double the amount of it. MD didn’t even get any Glitch Inn Shorts or Animiniz figurines, while TADC did. TADC is going to have an official manga version of episode 1 released in Japan and even official TADC gatcha machines in Japan, while MD gets… nothing. Btw I am NOT blaming goose. Gooseworx literally tweeted: “Also Murder Drones next plz Mr. Netflix?” Maybe, just maybe… The people complaining about TADC’s success were slightly right. Hopefully MD gets added to Netflix too.
It's a big thing for Glitch seeing TADC coming to Netflix. Even Japan is having lots of TADC merch there, i hope to go there one day. Mayhap it will come true, least Gooseworx wants MD to get added to Netflix, i truly support that all the way
I LOVE gooseworx's work (not pun intended), been there since little runmo, but I despise Glitch's favouritism depending if they struck gold or not, I get it, money and allat, but you can't just... put a show in a golden throne and serve it on a silver platter, then leave the others to rot. Just look at meta runner (PEAK), sunset paradise, and now, what made glitch popular in the first place, murder drones???? If you're gonna say you're gonna revive indie animation on RU-vid, at least be fair and give each one justice and the treatment they deserve too.
It’s crazy how far indie animation has come. Glitch has really gone from silly Mario vids, to Netflix worthy productions. Here’s to the future of indie animation…🥂
I hope MD gets on Netflix. Even goose herself said on Twitter that she wants it on Netflix. Perhaps putting it on Netflix would boost its popularity, increasing the chances of a season 2?
Honestly, all I care about is the fact that GLITCH retains full creative control. They haven't strayed from their main philosophy so that's good, we all know if Netflix gets their grubby hands on the show's writing, it would've been cancelled for no reason after like, the 6th episode. I am also very curious how much Netflix paid/what the terms are. Must be a really good deal if they accepted it.
I’ve always been proud of Glitch for hitting milestones like this, but it also kinda weirds me out a little. Not to say they shouldn’t have been this successful, because I want the best for them, but I don’t want them to start becoming copies of mainstream companies..if you know what I mean?..I’m kinda scared that they’ll lose their charm and what made them so special, what brought them here and why so many people love them. Either way, I’m still a Glitch fan. Anyway, love ya Yagsterr
At this point GLITCH is just the new Hollywood. I use to love Hollywood animation, And now I moved on from it kinda..... But I love Indie Animation way more now! 😍
what’s even more crazy is before this was confirmed. people would make posts of them on netflix with TADC on there with it saying “coming soon” and nobody believed it..
honestly, when i first saw glitchs post abt tadc being on netflix, i didnt know how to react, and had very mixed feelings. i didnt want tadc to loose any of its charm by now being streamed on a platform like netflix, but i feel comforted knowing that its not rly netflix and glitch collaborating on the show now, its more so netflix just streaming glitchs eps of tadc. i also like the fact that yt gets to see the eps before theyre streamed on netflix
Yeah, if they pull a Spindlehorse and replace all the VAs for more famous names, ditch the perfectly-good writers, have no HR, and outsource, we'll know.
@@RavenStarMediaGoose has confirmed Netflix came to them and had to conform to their terms. They still have full creative control and episodes would be on both RU-vid and Netflix.
I don't think being pessimistic is a necessarily good way of viewing this. Glitch has expressly cleared up that they maintain complete control, so I don't see why it's a problem. More eyes = more fans = more support = a very happy and long-lived GLITCH. They have all my support.
I can see why they would do that but i think we just mostly find it strange in most aspects and it won't really be an indie animation fully Nice video my guy
but it IS! netflix isn't funding it. and glitch is PAYING to have it distributed through netflix. and youtube gets episodes first, and it remains free. it is still indie what the fuck are you guys talking about
@@insertnamehere1398 That's what I was thinking! The word indie is derived from "independent". Digital Circus is still independent from Netflix in that it doesn't require Netflix to continue existing and being produced. The worst Netflix can do is stop hosting it on their platform and cease purchase of the license. The show would still be able to move on without Netflix. Additionally, it comes to RU-vid first, so people who watch it the "indie" way (RU-vid) get an advantage anyways. The only worrying part would be the precedent it sets for working with major film companies, but as long as those indie projects that do decided to work with them maintain control and self-sufficiency it shouldn't be too big of an issue.
This is so amazing to see indie's animation becoming big today. It's sad company's are sadly lossing their creativity, Glitch is now the next genertation, with silly vids we see on RU-vid, to now Netflix, it; a huge step. TADC going to Netflix, I truly do agree with them. I hope MD do get shorts or Animinz figures in the future.
WHAT THE HECK I DID NOT SEE THIS COMING- also, I agree w/ you on this. I don’t rlly feel like it belongs there and it should stay to RU-vid so can be more unique and not just like every other show
I mean I agree but they expressed they still have full control of it and Netflix is just gonna also have the episodes alongside RU-vid. So really Glitch gets more people watching and more money from Netflix paying to stream it.
This feels very weird. On one front most of the younger folks that happen to have Netflix are likely to avoid the weird content farm slop that TADC has unintentionally created. That’s a plus. But on the other. There ain’t much else I can name for like positives outside of the obvious 'oh, people will know more about digital circus'. And that’s kind of it?
The only problem I see with this is content farms. If content farms see something getting popular, then they will milk it as much as possible. If for some reason Murder Drones also gets on Netflix, then they will be at higher risk of content farms milking them.
While this is big for indie animation, and I’m really happy for them, I am kinda upset about how this proves some people’s points further that murder drones is getting thrown under the bus. It feels like tadc is the spoiled younger sibling while murder drones is kinda just.. there. tadc got glitch inn shorts, plushies of the whole cast after two episodes, and Animiniz figures, while it took glitch 3 whole years to release plushies of the cast. I am a bit disappointed with how they’re treating murder drones, but I’m proud of them for how far they’ve come.
It’s hard sometimes to balance what you promised in terms of being a proper indie animation studio, and the reality of running a business that needs to take as many opportunities to grow as it possibly can.
They are still a prope indie studio. They aren't outsourcing, aren't ditcting the cast or writers, and they didn't sell the show. Glitch has complete control.
After Episode 3, I'll commit to making a proper TADC video. I've got a lot of things to say about it, and a lot of said things are gonna HEAVILY rely on how good/bad Episode 3 is.
It’s honestly so strange seeing an indie RU-vid show go onto such a popular streaming app, such as Netflix. I hope later on murder drones gets accepted
I’m happy for the tadc fans and Glitch but I feel that MD also deserves to be on Netflix. Even if it’s not as popular (somehow) it is still a show with a pretty decent following and deserves more resignation.
as a murder drones fan I am super happy that glitch is on Netflix but i do think that glitch is doing it so they don't have two deal with RU-vid's bullshi.
Glitch productions and the smg4 channel as a parent youtube channel has come far in the last 10 or so years. I can't believe that it all started with two brothers who wanted to create a channel of reused memes lol. Huge thanks to Kevin & Luke for making youtube gems like meta runner and Murder Drones. Keep up the good work.
TBH, It's very well deserved for Glitch, but at the same time, I'm also scared for them in the future. What would happen to its fans, and is it good to team up with Netflix? Weren't they supposed to be internet rivals?
Regarding the whole TADC vs MD debacle, I think it's not really a matter of favoritism on Glitch's side and more so a reflection of the massive popularity TADC has achieved, heck I remember seeing adverts for a bootleg TADC theater play the other day in my city, which is... downright insane to think about lol And tbh this change in popularity does make sense considering the different tones and artstyles of both shows, MD is great but it's clearly a lot more niche with its setting and humor, so it makes sense for a streaming giant like Netlfix to go with TADC first as a "test run" of sorts before possibly bringing aboard other animated shows. Still, it's a good news overall so long as Netlifx doesn't get the power to outright cancel the shows lmao
Goose might have never expected THIS kind of future. We all obviously know that Glitch and Goose put so much effort into this show and got so many views because they deserve it, but no one expected THIS kinda shocking thing to happen. I too, as a Glitch fan, am both thrilled and concerned about the upcoming future of Glitch(and of course about the future of Murder Drones, too)
Not bad. This shows that indie animations after getting a couple eyes on them can become bigger shows. But this also might affect the indie part of that. I just hope whoever the big man is doesn't affect the quality of the shows or their personality
@@iexistinme4656 I mean, the creators are literally doing the one thing Hollywood is afraid of doing, so if they have the guts to do that I think they have the guts to pour their hearts and souls into their projects
It's strange this year's GlitchX only announced their own show's characters, I really hoped they will do the opposite, an even bigger lineup of shows, VAs and creators. Ramshackle, Monkey Wrench, Catching Up and so on.
At the end of it all the main concern I have is, why not murder drones? Was it glitch’s decision to exclude it or was it Netflix? Did it even get mentioned at all when making the deal? It’s sad to see such an overall great show continue to be so blatantly overshadowed. I mean I like TADC, but not at the expense of throwing murder drones under the carpet you know?
Netflix actually has no power over TADC. They can't cancel it and have no power over production. They're only hosting it, and Glitch can revoke the deal at any time.
I heard that the new TADC episodes will still release on youtube frist, glitch also said that they want their shows to be available to watch for anyone and not behind a paywall, so TADC being on netflix is just like a little bonus view if you already watched it on youtube
Some people are saying that it should stay on youtube but im proud that goitch git big enough to get onto the biggesr streamong service. Im glad for them.
i am honestly just shocked they did it with digital circus and not murder drones, because like murder drones is just way more netflixy to me in general.
i'm scared. glitch has made some.....interesting decisions in the past, and I'm worried the early-access idea is one they would definitely jump on due to the (likely) extra money they'd recieve.
Nope. If anything Glitch just proved that Hazbin could have kept the pilot cast and writers and got just as big. Viv was just a petty sell-out because she wanted fame.
the outcome of this stuff coming to netflix might bring an impact on glitch, but also maybe quicker releases financial wise since netflix might fund some shows, i wonder though if all the indie creators could partner up and make their own
For everyone asking why Murder Drones isn't on Netflix and is being overshadowed, it's because it's much less popular than TADC. The pilot episode of Digital Circus alone had more views than every episode of Murder Drones put together. It's like asking why Nintendo made a Mario movie before announcing a Pikmin movie.
the reason why people dont like it as much its a slop toward being owned by Netflix..maybe the next show will be Netflix explosive edit: so first on netflix and a few months later on youtube? WIN still a slop but a WIN
It might just be a licensing deal and not Netflix aquiring it. Like, how shows like friends and My little pony be put on services, but they're not part of the straming service brand. Hopefully thats what it is
No need to worry, they can't. Netflix actually has no power over TADC. They can't cancel it and have no power over production. They're only hosting it, and Glitch can revoke the deal at any time.
Guys i agree md also deserved to get in Netflix but it is better in youtube plus you could freely see all the episodes. And it is probably Netflix who requested to glitch so we can't do anything about it. And if we actually get in then they have to remake the ep 1-2 because due to the quality of animation
I know it’s very saddening, but I do think GLITCH and Liam would have loved to have Murder Drones on Netflix, but I don’t think Netflix, nor any other streaming services are interested in Murder Drones, that’s probably why GLITCH hasn’t had the opportunity to have it on a streaming platform. If I’m being optimistic, I do think in the future, GLITCH would have the opportunity for Murder Drones to be on a streaming platform, and if they can do it for The Amazing Digital Circus, they can too for Murder Drones, let’s hope and pray. 🙏
Day 125 of asking yagsterr to make cooking video for Nori heart (us basement dwellers are hungry) So long as glitch continues to post their shows on youtube, fine by me
Honestly, I don't really like this. TADC only has two episodes, and it takes such a long time to make a new one. I always did think the show was slightly overrated, and I don't think it's Netflix-worthy. Honestly, Murder Drones deserves to be on Netflix more than TADC. I think it's a better show, but that's just my opinion. It has more episodes, they are more entertaining (my opinion), and the show is actually complete. Although, This comment is just me complaining.
I can't believe that it's coming on Netflix. To be honest, MD doesn't deserve to be on Netflix cuz i think the 8 episodes is not very worthy, if they continue the series, so yeah, it deserves to be on Netflix.
