There’s something rather poetic about amethar being a storm herald barbarian and saccharina being a storm sorcerer

Fantasy high entertained me the most, it was a fun party. Sophomore year prepared me for Brennan’s ability to hurt me. Unsleeping city was honestly a master craft. But crown of candy? I wasn’t prepared. I screamed. And when siobhan shouted at the fairy “IF YOU CANT BRING HER BACK WHATS THE POINT OF MAGIC” I legit forgot to breathe. My absolute favourite series by far. They always outdo themselves just when I think it was already at the peak.

I feel like we aren’t talking enough about Calroy sitting on the throne with the dagger

ONE THING I JUST NOTICED: Calroy's got strings around everyone except for Lapin (and possibly Liam or Ruby in the corner, they're both ranged fighters with bows) which works REALLY well with how he tries (and fails) to get his hooks in Lapin and fails miserably. I love it! Delicious!

I personally love the 3 frames of theo with lazulli, the war and amethar as he is kneeling, such powerful images

I can’t stop watching this... the fear on Liam’s face while the twins are unaware.... “Do you walk in the valley of kings” & then the split frame of the lollistaff & swirl warden?? Aaaaaaa!! Those frames of Cinnamon growing too this is all really well done

gonna gush incoherently about this real quick. THE SUGAR PLUM FAIRY’S EYES OPENING IS SO FUCKIN COOL. and the jet/amethar being stabbed parallel IS HURTINGG ME. 2:36 is such an epic frame. you’ve managed to visualise the story so well and it feels really natural. hot calroy rise up. tldr GREAT JOB

This is one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen...Every frame fits SO perfectly and has so much incredible detail. The Lapin “do you ponder the manner of things” beats made me audibly gasp this is really really stunning

this is truly the best animatic i've ever seen. mind blowing. showstopping. leaving me breathless. your eye for color, lighting, character shape, silhouette, and expression is absolutely insane.

booted up my laptop just to do this and i'm so excited. since i can't fit this in the amount of characters it'll take on twitter, i shall SCREAMMMMM about this animatic in this comment instead. but yeah, holy fuck, sam, YOU BLEW IT RIGHT OUT OF THE WATER WITH THIS ONE! starting off with the twins and just going all in with the parallels is driving me insane. from the halves of the heart to the weapons to the tiaras to the linking pinkies. AHHHHH. COLORIZED "DO YOU WALK IN THE SHADOW OF MEN WHO SOLD THEIR LIVES TO A DREAM?" HIT SO MUCH HARDER THAN I ANTICIPATED. someone already said this, but the animation you did of spf's eyes opening to "the dark" gave me CHILLS. the connecting panels of swirlwarden and lollistaff was SUCH a good detail as well. i think 0:55 has to be my favorite panel out of the whole thing solely because it's jet and i just miss her so much. DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE SEQUENCE OF RUBY CASTING FOG DURING THE FIRST COMBAT? THE PINK????? AND THEN THE TRANSITION OF THE CERESIAN EYES TO THE STAINED GLASS WINDOWS BELIZABETH WAS WALKING BY?????????? WHEW. i pretend i do not see hot humanized calroy. except that i do. AGAIN WITH "THE DARK." i don't know if you intended this, but using that lyric specifically for the villains in both instances, first with spf, now with the big baddie four, was immensely sexy, actually. THE INTRODUCTION OF RINA AT THE END OF THE BRIDGE. YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!!! the lightning coming with her slamming the winterscoop into the ground... EXACTLY! SHE HAS THE RANGE! reusing the panel of castle candy at the end, but with the pcs in it this time, was so big brained of you. AND YEAH!!!!! I THINK THAT'S IT!!!!! sorry this is so long, but i think i got it out of my system now. i love this so much and i'm so proud of you for being able to put it together.

Three years later and I'm still watching this. What an amazing piece of work this is, I can't believe you did it in two weeks! Every frame is incredibly dramatic and helps tell the story. Even the scenes walking through the castle hallways add so much.

0:33, 0:44, 1:12, 1:21, and 2:37 ARE SO GOOD LITERALLY WTF HOW?!? AND THE COLOR SCHEMES FOR ALL THE VILLAINS?? UGH YES!! AND THE PARALLEL SHOTS OF SACCHARINA’S EYES WITH THE LIGHTNING AND LIAM’S WITH THE SHADOWS AHHHHHH

The parallel start and end shots of the castle exterior, the time lapse of Theo, the split screen of Swirlwarden and the Lollistaff completing each other (and that fact that Lapin and Theo are, quite literally, representative in their power of glitter and gold), the sequence of villain shots, the parallels between Jet's death and Calroy stabbing Amethar, the fade-out of the Sweetest Heart, the statues of the Rocks sisters, the beautiful shot of Belizabeth and the stained glass, the strings reaching from Calroy's fingers to all but Lapin and Ruby...this is truly a masterpiece

Holy fuck!! The artistry JUMPED out!! Your visual storytelling is incredible, and everything fits so well it's as if the song was written specifically for this series. My personal favorite moments are the introductions of Theo, Amethar, and Lapin, and the killer transition at 1:11. Incredible work!

I haven't watched much of CoC because it is Too Intense for my fragile heart, but goodness! This is great! You've managed to hit the Exact Limit of CoC emotions I can handle having at one time before I need to take a break -- with a very well made animatic to boot! I cannot comprehend how long it must have taken you to not just make all these quality frames, but COLOR and SHADE them too?? Truly you are a blessing to this community...

there are many great parts here but the three panels of Sir Theobald Gumbar at 0:26 convey his story perfectly in only a handful of seconds. honestly that, Amethar's backstory, and Lapin's backstory are my favorite parts here with how much they portray in so little frames

I just found this but god DAMN it's so good!!! There's literally too much I love about it to be contained in one comment but I'll try: Theo's part at the beginning where he's following Lazuli, then in war, then kneeling for Amethar? Calroy and the chess board! The part showing all the villains to "the dark, the dark, the dark"! How it went black and white after Jet's death until Saccharina showed up and then it was in color again! Saccharina's whole entrance! The transition of Saccharina with cute lil Cinnamon to Giant Dragon Cinnamon! Showing all the villains back at Castle Candy and then showing the Rocks family outside, mirroring the earlier shot of the castle! It was just all so cool!!!

This has a permanent tab open on my desktop, just so I can come back and rewatch it when I want that *epic* feeling

I just got in the habit of thinking of animatics for my own DnD game when hearing songs, but when hearing "Glitter and Gold" I can only think of this, an already perfect animation. It really shows the epicness, the heartbreak, and the beauty of this whole story.

I found and watched this the first time before I even got to the cathedral scene, mostly because I liked the song and I had already spoiled myself on the deaths/twists that the season held. Coming back and rewatching it, I picked up so many more little details in this. The three shots with Theo following, fighting, and kneeling continues to be my favorite, and hits different after the final episodes, but all of it is just a masterpiece. I loved every second of it.

HI this gives me FEELINGS It’s so perfect, the way the beginning is lighthearted just like the actual show but shit gets real SO fast with the intros of the adult PCs (which are all PERFECT and amazing. The four statutes + those lyrics??? Theo’s journey in three frames to end kneeling before amethar? SUGAR PLUM FAIRY + those lyrics???) And then the second verse focusing on the villains (and more perfect intros! Calroy + strings esp) and then some scenes of the villains winning??? The songs bridge and the transitional time until Saccharina enters??? ENTER SACCHARINA on her own verse giving color back to the animation and another tone shift so the hero’s are winning??? I would never in a million years have seen it on my own but this song perfectly fits this story and the art ties it together so well I will never hear this song again with out playing these pictures in my mind. Ive watched this at least 10 times by now
