Glo Toob is amazingly useful. I have been using this as my EDC and attaching it to my gear bags all the time. It's amazing to feel safe while you are away from your bags when working outside in the dark.
The Glo TooB AAA PRO has 3 modes, high, low and strobe/blinking, which can be super useful for all kinds of situation. If you are using NiMH batteries, remmber to put an oring on top of the battery's butt before closing the cap, then it will function properly.

Great review! I've been trying to figure out whether the Pro was worth the extra over the normal AAA. Your point about the led being at the other end, and the difference that makes to the overall visibility, was really useful.

I have the original GLO-TOOB AAA model and, along with the difference in light position, I noticed that the old strobe pattern is much faster, turning on and off at around 5Hz, while the new one strobes at around 3Hz. The older, faster strobe pattern is certainly more striking, but possibly disorienting, and definitely not something you'd want to stare at if you suffer from epilepsy. However, the rapid strobe is extremely attention-getting.
