Honestly, after 5 minutes of gameplay, I forgot that you were playing stretched

I've found that seeing a left-handed triggers me way more than a 4:3 stretched on a 16:9.

4:3 feels natural for me while 16:9 feels too "small"

the 2 main downsides to stretched is: - you lose peripheral vision - because of the wider models, people seem to move 'faster'

When i firstly tried stretched, i was so god damn good because its easier to flick at enemies and other things. But the longer i use it it just feels like the original so i just keep stretching it until my computer couldn't handle it and got to its limit. So my game is really really fucking stretched and its actually really normal for me.

To answer your question at the end, I don't mind it at all. There's a huge chunk of people who watch pros stream all the time and the res doesn't bother them. Honestly it doesn't even look THAT different to native so you'd easily forget about it while you're watching. At the end of the day, we watch for the content/personality more than anything so if you're popping off and getting loads more highlights with this res, it'd actually be better for the viewer for you to stay on it. I draw the line at left hand/right hand viewmodel switching every 3 seconds tho. My god is that annoying to watch...

I've been playing stretched from the begining because i had a shitty laptop back then. I got used to it and kept it through my other pc's. I now play 4:3 at 1440x1080 custom res so the game looks good but it's still stretched.

Done the exact same thing you did a couple of days ago, without watching this video. Had exactly the same conclusions you had and decided to stick to the stretched resolution. After this i stumbled upon your video on youtube. Totally agree!

4:3 stretched on overpass Is insane, since most of the fights are from long distance you will have an insane advantage.

Hello Jeff, Im Playing CSGO since the End of 2014, and Played over 5 Years on a Streched Res. Tryed them all, seen them all. Whats Funny is that today im Playing on a 4:3 Black bars Res, and im Feeling Really Good.

For you know: you can play at a higher 4:3 resolution. You just need to open your nvidia/amd driver settings and add a custom resolution. 4:3 1080p is 1440x1080.

To answer your question at the end, I don't mind watching 16:9 OR 4:3 gameplay. I'm used to playing 4:3 but I'm used to watching 16:9, I feel like most 4:3 players agree with me.

Keep the resolution, it looks perfectly fine. It doesn't have to be 8k 60fps for the people to watch it. We watch your videos for your style and the quality information.

used native most of my cs life from 1,6 to csgo, just like you. moved to 4:3 few years ago and its the bert thing i ever did. i noticced improvements much like you from the very beggining. The most noticeable improvement is AIM, but i mean my pistol rounds aim. Before i would struggle to get 2-3 or 5, now 3 was average and 5hs aces was getting more often with pistols. Helped me go from lvl 8 faceit to lvl10 2.5k elo in about just 2 months after the change And i was stuck at lvl8 for like a year.

I've followed your advice when you tweeted about it and after a few hours of melting my brain cells I decided to try 1440x1080 stretched, it's literally the same but the game doesn't look like poo, it can be abit of struggle to make it work but definitely worth it for your eyes!

I've tried this personally, and my current take away is I personally find it more difficult because of the proportions and lack of peripheral vision. I could definitely see this being more useful to you if you have weaker vision though, even average vision, but I have 20/15 vision so the benefit of bigger pixels isn't really a benefit to me. It's also probably better in games like csgo due to the nature of the gun play

it’s normal, I have watched as much as I can remember csgo vids (highlights or else) and I as a viewer used to playing and viewing 4:3 clips ..... as long as you don’t mind we want more of this relevant 4:3 content

One or two days after this i was "lucky" enough to meet him with his 5 stack in mm as he was streaming- he ran around with a mac10 the whole time and got 30+kills, fun.

This is how we've been watching pro most streams anyway, so this is more closer to home than the native.

I had to switch to a config after the last couple updates, and it included being auto set to 4:3. Honestly, after a week, it does feel a lot easier. The hardest adjustments were scopes, adjusting for recoil while looking down, and long angles like watching CT from car on dust. Edit: also, it really accentuates the girth of the bowie.

It's nicer to look on, so yes keep using it and ur gonna be a more beast than u allready are 🔥

That "brain hurting" feeling is soooo real... I played for 18 years since CS beta with my mouse inverted, and 2 years ago I switched (due to a RU-vidr of my old age in the same situation that made aiming and accuracy tests that "proved" a huge improvement after switching) the first days were a nightmare were, as you say, you could feel your brain struggling with something new after being used to something else for so long... I have also always played on native resolution (and thus 16:9 aspect ratios for a while now) and you're making me think about making my brain hurt again... (espèce d'efoir*** ;P)

"cl_righthand 0" is the best!!! But to be honest, I've no problems with that resolution for videos. I may try it for myself.

It's called "Honeymoon period". Play with this resolution for couple of weeks and you will hit a slump. I played on 4:3 1024x768 since cs 1.6 and every time I tried changing it up, it felt amazing for a little while but would always make me switch back to 1024x768.

4:3 doesnt look bad. I remember i switched to it a while ago and it looked so weird, and after a month I changed back and everything was so skinny.

Mate, you MUST learn how to apply a custom resolution! try adding 1440x1080. It has the same crispness as 16:9 yet the same 4:3 benefits.

Boxers train in heavy shoes outside of boxing to add an extra spring to their step in the ring. The body and mind has the weight built into its muscle memory, and its a similar situation with switching from non-stretched to stretched resolution. After building up the non-stretched muscle memory for so long, that extra different in hit box width makes it feel like targets are way easier to hit, but after acclimating to the stretched resolution this effect is lost.
