Surveying is an awesome job. If you like getting out into the wilderness, if you like an adventure, you like technology, it's a great job.
I think working in the Gulf of Carpentaria in the Northern Territory was a really memorable experience, not only a technical achievement but it was quite physically taxing and took me to some really beautiful places. The beautiful places were hard to get to but it was worth it when we got there.
Getting on the chopper was so exciting. I had never been in a chopper before and getting to go over the remote NT was wonderful. Over water, over the wilderness, over animals, over crocs, was just an experience I'll never forget.
I was lucky enough to do the tidal surveys in the river systems in the Northern Territory and this provided some really unique opportunities to see the wildlife and do a spot of fishing and I actually managed to catch my first barramundi which I was super proud of.
I can't wait for the next opportunity to explore new places meet new people and get out in the remote wilderness of Australia.
