Used to stay here regularly maybe 6 years plus years ago and loved it. Food was great. The rooms were very big so can only think that this one in the video is a single maybe with an extra bed if it was a busy time.
We stayed at the Santa Lucia 48 years ago. It was our first family trip abroad and we loved it. It was January so the indoor pool was useful. Thanks for your vlogs. This one brought back lots of lovely memories.
Thanks Paul and Carole for this honest review..Used to visit this hotel on an evening for its great entertainment back in 1981,and had a good look round it too,since then,I've always said if I ever go back to that area of Mallorca,I would definitely stay there.Agree the hotel room with open plan wardrobe space is not ideal,but not enough to put me off staying there.
My parents stayed several times at the Santa Lucia over 20 years ago when they were in their 70s... looking at this, the hotel has been significantly upgraded and refurbished since then as it was a fairly simple budget hotel and pretty cheap for half board. One year they did a cruise and stay with TUI...one week around the western med and one week half board in the Santa Lucia. They loved it. In those days only £450 per person total price.
Thats cool, I went there every year from around 92 to 98 in July for 2 weeks as a nipper (now 37) and I loved it, loads of day time activities like rifle shooting, darts, pool games and evening disco before some very good entertainment. I was always under the impression it was quite pricey even then. Believe it was 4* then, we always flew with britannia back then. Obviously the biggest change I've noticed is that it's now adults only as there was always loads of other kids to make friends with and felt like a 2nd home abroad as I did see some year after year. I'd love to go back to have a look around the area again. David x
Great video thanks, recently stayed there, loved the location and bar prices. We had a standard sea view so was not allowed to use the rooftop pool as that was just for superior room customers only. Also our room had an interconnecting door and was very noisy, we could hear our neighbours conversations. The sunbeds in the main pool are so old, worn and sag onto the metal bar so are very uncomfortable. We had a great holiday but wouldn’t stay there again.
Nice video we stayed not far from this hotel at the Son matias beach hotel which was amazing with fantastic views also, a very good area as you said for literally everything including the Mr Whippy Ice cream Kiosk!! I hope cashless hotels are not now the norm in Majorca as we have just purchased all our Euros for a trip coming up to Cala Bona!! I would like this to be included in our booking info if it is the case so we are prepared for it. looking forward to watching your other videos.
I would just like to say good choice in The Son Matias Beach Hotel. I also stay there. Used to stay at the Santa Lucia Hotel, but the food there now is terrible. Really bad.

We have just got back from 11 nights in Skiathos. Are tourist tax was €33 , free safe and air con , fridge slightly bigger than yours. But the drinks omg €10-50 for an Apparel Spritz. (I’d not long paid £10 for a bottle in Sainsbury’s with my nector card) € 9-50 rum and Coke , €5 local beer. Everywhere going up In Europe I’m afraid. About 15 years ago popped in that hotel to us the loo it’s definitely had a make over since then looked quite nice and It is in a fantastic setting.
We are going in august and have booked the superior room , and as far as im aware , the superior rooms only have access to the roof top pool, thanks for the vlog , the last time i stayed there was about 40 years ago looking forward to it .
The start of this video absolutely cracked me up! This hotel looks lovely - I reckon I could lose myself for hours up on that sun terrace. I remember following along with this trip on Instagram - my first ever 'boys holiday' after finishing school was to Magaluf, so think I'd probably get some PTSD flashbacks staying here...!!

I remember the second year it was open my daughter paid 80€, not sure if that was p/p or room, so all superior rooms are on the 8th floor and you can only access that pool area if your superior, I don’t think you can just ask for superior rooms now, we tried 2 years ago and wasn’t any left and I’m sure you have to book through TUI, it is relatively new area maybe 5 years or so and I remember if booked early they offered free upgrade, but hotel has always had the cruise guests and maybe they save for them, there called superior rooms because if I remember right the top floor rooms were refurbished before the rest of the hotel which was later refurbished and I’m sure there all the same kind of spec now, we’ve had 6 years there and loved it no issues at all.
Thank you for the video. We are very interested in staying at this hotel, we have walked past it a few times while visiting Palma Nova. Just one question. Can you remember if the bath/shower screen is fixed or can open? Only asking as have trouble getting into the bath for a shower if the screen is fixed. Cheers.

The Santa Lucia Hotel has gone downhill drastically. The food is the bigest problem.Last time I went food was so bad that I will never go back. I now stay at the Son Matias beach hotel. And it is spot on.
Hope don’t mind us asking you but love the videos. When you stayed at hotel was the food ok in the evening as read many reviews and lots of it’s cold and not cooked properly. Love to hear what you thought many thanks Steve & Josie
Thanks for the reply. We have a superior room so able to use the roof top pool . Rest of the hotel always looks good . Let’s hope by the time we go they have sorted the issue so many have complained about on trip advisor. Once again thanks for your reply hope you are both well keep doing those videos 😀👍
@Paul and Carole Love to Travel I think that was great bar prices too. Been in Santa Ponsa and Ibiza this year and the hotel and street bars were more expensive than that ! 😂
What is it about Spanish hotels with two single beds pushed together. You're on holiday with your better half. The least they could do is give a decent double bed!! Do Spanish people not sleep together??
stayed at Lucia many times over the years, last holiday there was 2019 when it was AI the hotel was good but i felt is was about money money money .booked in at reception handed over 100 euro for 2 weeks safe, ,hotel tax . after paying a lot of money to go there. its in a prime location never got to see the roof pool as it was an extra premium to be paid
Oh interesting that you used to have to pay extra for the roof top pool, it was free access when we were there! Agree with the safe, you shouldn't have to pay for that!
Hello the Santa Lucia Hotel used to let children stay, but changed a few years ago to adults only. That is why pool for kids. They just have not changed it.
Just back from a week all inclusive here. Will not be back, and my party were not alone in our complaints. Spent more time across the road in Three Brothers Bar, the all inclusive drinks selection was THE WORST I've ever encountered. Food also very average. Location is great though.
Stayed there all inclusive a few years back, lovely hotel in an excellent location but it was let down by a few self entitled older people who carried on something shocking. I wouldn't let that put me off though as it's a really good place to stay.
