I thought it was just me until my son with the same gun said he noticed the Gen 5 has totally different lockup than older generations. I figure it will only make them more accurate.
As for Glock sights, I prefer new Trijicon HD orange 3 dots. Durable, robust, hold up well. I also use Tango Down mag releases. Easy to install, drop free. No hassles.
The only Glocks I’ve had issues with is gen 4 and 5, and was only in the first couple hundred rounds with 115 grain. I think it’s being caused by the new double recoil spring assembly. The springs are a lot tighter and tougher so I think they may need a break in. Some of my HKs have really good recoil spring and required a break in. Usually a couple hundred rounds does the trick, and if you can run some 147 grain even better. There’s a lot of guns that require a break in so I don’t see it as a negative. To be honest, you really shouldn’t carry or use a gun for self defense unless you have 500-1000 rounds minimum through it
Good review but I will take a Glock over a Canik any day. They always work, you can get upgrades for them. I am looking for a nice used Glock 17!Gen 5 police trade in with night sights.
That’s what separates Glock. They are decent out of the box and utterly reliable. Other manufacturers like beretta, hk, and some sigs are good, but look at the cost of their mags. I believe in having as many mags as you can. With Glock you can definitely do that. You can always make a Glock nicer if that floats you.
Pretty good review the problem is it’s not the gun it’s the magazines they’re 10 rounders meant to take a full-size 17 round mag where in the 10 rounders, the spring is a lot stiffer and it’s gonna cause malfunctions. I have a 17 MOS and I have had zero issues. I’ve also got a GEN 517 GEN 519 and a GEN 317 I have had 00 issues from any of them, also the backstrap are made for different sized hands not because of the make it the same size as the three man doing good just one word of advice not trying to be mean but get out of New Jersey and get to a free state. I call New Jersey New York any of those states that decide to do any kind of band of so sort uncontent unconstitutional stateso keep up good work man get a free state

As of Aug 2023: Glock USA 🇺🇸 quit offering MOS format 17 gen 5. They will continue to sell 47, 47 MOS models. Same basic features. 17rd mag. Striker fired. MOS plate. Newer MOS plates are polymer not metal. 2023.
Glock not being very innovative ? Really, arent all the other striker fired pistols just a copy . And as for changes I really have never felt my Gen3 17 needed any big changes. It go’s bang every time I pull the trigger. Glock is the OG innovator, I only wish I had gotten on the Glock train back in the eighties.
