When I first put a slide together I separate all the parts by plastic and metal parts. I give them a godd cleaning with a Dremel to remove all the little burrs from the casting process and give a little polish also.
Good video except it would’ve been a whole lot easier to just drop the extractor and then put safety in and push up until it sits with the extractor and then don’t install the plunger until after the firing pin… just a thought for next time or anyone else in need.
What about the firing pin channel liner? Why didn't you show that being installed? You also didn't show the front and rear sight installation. So no, the slide was not assembled from scratch.
i’m buying a lower of a 17 gen 5 from someone soon and i was going to build the upper. anyone have some good upper websites for me ? only reason he won’t sell me the full thing is because he has the MOS sight on there and doesn’t want to give that up lol
Kills the vid, if you were able to sit through the shaky 1 handed construction. I hung in to see if he could do the firing pin with 1 hand, but he can find a c clamp suddenly at that point. Seriously though, at the start I was digging how straight to the point this vid was, but not showing the bevel vs straight sides of liner is a huge miss.
