I bought a g19.5 last Sat. and am waiting on the background check. During the research and lust phase while waiting, I noticed the g19 gen 5's used to have the half moon cut out on the magwell that ppl hated. Thank you for posting your vid to confirm the newer g19.5 have fixed that crappy "feature". Even more excited for mine now... Great Vid!

I got same gun but with MOS and metal Ameriglo night sights. Wouldn’t have gotten it with those sights you have. Also just purchased the 23 MOS with the night sights. Never was a Glock guy until the 5.5 version came out. Nice carry guns!
I noticed I didn't get a test fire shell with my Gen 5 23. Guess ammo is scarce now they stopped doing it lol. I went with some regular Ameriglo night sights on mine too. Green front, yellow rear. I like them, but I wouldn't recommend them. Wish I could have found a different set, but I didn't want to wait for them to come in the mail.
I was thinking about the same set or very similar it was ameriglo and the same colors. What didn’t you like about them? I’m about to order some sight here soon, just so hard choosing.
@@northfltactical8044 I think I like my Meprolight TruDot on my 26 better because the rear is a swept back design/ plus they're green/green. They seem easier to line up. Something about the yellow rear makes it harder to focus on the green front with the Ameriglo. They're a fine set of sights so I guess I should just get better acquainted with them before I trash them. They are pretty sharp at night compared to the Meps, but I think it's because they're brand new.
They keep the fired shells for database purposes, if shell’s are found on a crime scene they can take em n run em threw der database 2 find out who was shooting so be careful my man!
If I wasn't a firearm collector and didn't buy every new avalible Glock since 1988? To me, buying a Glock 19 Gen 5 to replace a Gen 4 wouldn't be worth it. This is the same thing that I bought over the years to replace a particular model with a newer so called upgraded one, newer doesn't mean better. If I wasn't a collector instead of a novice, some of them would have been a big waste of money.
Some people only upgrade from the gen 4 to gen 5 because of the cut out on the bottom side of the grip. I never had a 19 so I focused on the Gen 5 from the beginning.

Thank you for the great compliment! I try my best to be straight forward and make the video easy to watch. I actually purchased my pistol in stores. Hop onto glocks website and they have a couple tools you can put your zipcode into and it’ll show dealers near by.
Did they actually stop making the mk1 version or can you still get them? I hated the mag well cutout and want to avoid getting an earlier one. If I order online, I'll be sure to look for the front serrations on the slide.

I Just Bought a New Glock 19 Gen 5 today,, will I be doing anything bad to the gun if I shoot it for the first time without doing any cleaning//lubricating first ?
I think California has a restriction on how many rounds can be in a hand gun. I believe it’s 10 the 19 holds 15. But I believe there are custom mags for it that hold 10.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with using the "Slide Release" for exactly what it was designed for: releasing the locked back slide to put the weapon in battery. Glock states that expressly and refers to it as a "Slide Stop/Release". I have been using the "Slide Stop/ Release" to release the slide and put the weapon in battery for over 30 years on all my Glock pistols. I have had zero malfunctions, breakages or wear (other than the paint wearing off the part). Cautions to not use it to release the slide are myth and bunkum.
Nothing at all wrong with polymer sights. They are made of the same material as the frame of the pistol and the core of the guide rod assembly. Some people don't like them, but I have had only one OEM polymer forward sight fail on any of my Glocks in 30+ years. One melted a bit after shooting over 600 rounds in a defensive pistol course, but still functioned fine. I did however, replace that and the rear with factory steel sights from glock duplicating their polymer sight style. Those didn't melt in subsequent courses - but neither did the polymer sights on any of my other Glocks. Must've just got a bad one.
If you're overweight you have bigger priorities that outweigh anything heavy life firearms. You should be more worried about lifting yourself not some new Glocks.
I work 50+ hours in the sun on heavy machinery every week. Lifting, getting up and down and moving fast. Half the people I see come into my field don’t make it and most look like you. So I could care less what someone has to say on RU-vid behind a screen and keyboard. There is obviously some things wrong with you that need worked on for you to act the way you do. Hope you get that help.
The trigger is like a squirt gun, the grips are better on a water bottle, the sights stink and they can be finicky on ammo. Other than that, Glocks are great.
Glock U sights still suck. Why do people keep saying ambidex-tri-ous? It's almost as bad as saying clip when you mean magazine. Sorry. That's just a pet peeve.
