I've been carrying a glock 19 gen 3 in my pocket for years now. And shoot it often. I have yet to have any malfunctions. It eats any ammo you can throw at it. And yes in my pocket no holster! I just clean the pocket lint out of it from time to time. He'll I've even washed it in the sink. Best gun I've ever carried.
I disagree about the Glock or handgun being the secondary weapon. The only group of people that the handgun is the secondary weapon is military. What I mean is that people going about their normal routine do not have shotguns and or rifles handy. Everything else I agree.
Also being a lefty i started with the gen 4 i found i didnt like the mag release being on the right side (for goofy shooters such as myself lol) so i swapped it back to the left side. I eventually went down to a gen 3. Ive shot right handed firearms left handed my whole life. Ive learned to manipulate the weapon to lefty needs haha. Cant wait to try out the gen 5 i havent had a chance to check one out yet. And also to the comment about the gen 4 n 5 being illegal in cali i was unaware that was a thing 😔. I knew they had the oversized mag bans but glock gen 4 n 5s man thats so silly. Get out of there and somewhere with less strict gunlaws my friend.
I’m a lefty. Ive been shooting Gen3s since they came out. I use my forefinger to release the slide lock and my middle finger to drop the mags. I tried to use a gen5, it feels unnatural for me to use my thumb. I’m faster and my grip doesn’t change using my gen 3.
I met a Norwegian soldier some years ago and he said the 19 was standard for their military and their 'navy seal' type units. It performs well in cold weather and those dudes swim with it.
This is my current ccw since getting my license. It was easier to conceal than I expected. 5'3" 135 lbs and wear men's small tshirts. So far no one had googly eyes on my piece yet. However, it prints very hard on my body other than my appendix.
If you didn’t know yet, go buy a G48….MUCH smaller footprint than the 19 and far easier on the belly! I’m 5’11” and 200lbs….It’s A LOT more comfortable than my 19 and will be my main CCW!….Even if the smaller grip means I have a harder time holding it.
I recently sold all of my Glock's. Hell yeah they are great pistols, the G19 should be most ppls first pistol as you said. Easy to use, clean and it's safe. They chew up and spit out anything you put in them. Light weight & accurate. Your advice is sound and this is a good video. New shooters pay attention. This guy hit on a lot of simple things most miss and there was no bs in this video. Great job.
My first pistol and only pistol is a G19. I've shot many others and nothing beats the simplicity of the glock. Yes a well maintained 1911 is just as reliable but simplicity is where the glock beats all others. If I went into combat tomorrow, I'd take a glock
Gen 3 G19 works best for me. My opinion is based on owning over 35 pistols/5 revolvers in my 53 yrs with an Army MP and deputy sheriff background. Guns are like boots you like what you like for your own reasons...Most importantly is to be good with the guns in your collection but be great with the gun you carry (whatever it is).
TheBull916 I prefer the gen 3 for two very specific reasons. 1. I LIKE the finger grooves. They fit my hand well. 2. I HATE the stippling on the gen 4 and 5. That’s it. Your results may vary.
I own many Glocks but shoot the G19 the most. I've tried the G43 , G48 , & other small pistols but the G19 & G23 are my favorite by far. I just need more practice with the G23 40cal but ammo at $1 a round has made shooting a rich man hobbies.
Just picked up my first 19 Gen 4 in ODG. Liking everything about it so far. The widespread ubiquity, cheap magazines, and legendary reliability was what swayed mu decision from the Sig P320. I have a small Sig P938 single stack for carry, but may replace it with the 19 G4.
LOVE my Glock 19's (Gen 3, Gen 4, Gen 4 MOS and Gen 5 MOS). I have Vortex Venom red dot sights 3 moa & 6 moa for the MOS'. Red dots really improve my aim. Did I tell you about my other 9mm Glocks? Why buy anything else?
Great pistol. I have big mitts. So I have a G17. Love it. Also carried a 1911 in the military. Loved it too. Still have a Colt I EDC in the summer. Its flatter. So it's easier to conceal.
I personally am not a big fan of any red dot on any pistol or tactical light on a pistol. The only replacement that I made when I purchased my G21 was the sights. My personal opinion I cannot see buying a 600 dollar pistol & putting 1,000 dollar worth of upgrades to it. If I was that inclined to do so why not just purchase a Wilson Combat or a Staccato to begin with?? Yes I can see putting a red dot on a rifle or shotgun!! Just my opinion.
Disagree - buy the Glock 23 in .40 cal, then get a conversion barrel for ~$120 (Lone Wolf, Storm Lake, etc.) to convert to 9mm rounds - now you have BOTH a Glock 23 and a Glock 19. Buy another conversion barrel for .357 Sig for another ~$120 and you also have a Glock 32. Then buy the Advantage Arms slide and mag kit for ~$300 to shoot 22lr (note that this is now rimfire vs. center fire) and you also have a Glock 44. Starting with a Glock 23 gives you 4 calibers in one frame - the ultimate lego gun!!! You can still go down to the 22lr starting with a Glock 19 to shoot much cheaper practice rounds with low (no) recoil - good for new shooters - but you can't go up in caliber because of the size of the hole in the nose of the frame. 9mm is good for self-defense, but for a large assailant .40 cal has a whole lot more stopping power, which is why it's used by FBI and state and local police, as well as park rangers (think bear and cougar defense) Just an opinion, my two cents
I own a P226 I love it and consider it my main gun. The 1911 the Grand daddy and everyone needs one I think....the glock 19 I also own...it's my carry piece.. It's ugly...but, its tough and they work! Which is why I bought it. I'm a Sig fan and my 226 comes first
I have a Glock 23, .40 caliber, bought a Lone Wolf 9mm barrel and 2 magazines, when I want to shoot 9mm I just change the barrel. Works flawlessly. Will now buy a .357 Sig barrel and 2 magazines. With one pistol will have 3 guns. Don't let anyone tell you there's problems, there's no problem. Plan to get a Glock 27, do the same thing. With 2 pistols I will have 6 guns. Fabulous.
It took me a few minutes to realize they're laying on a table and not hanging on a wall, lol. Awesome video. I'm looking to get a Glock one of these days.
went with the Glock 23 for new edc because of current ammo problems and 9mm is the hardest to get now. Def more snappy round, I'm about the same accuracy between the 9mm & 40sw, faster shooting takes a hit however. Just recently got a tungsten guide rod and it def made a difference in taming th muzzle flip. Couple hundred rounds through it w new guide rod and I'm feeling jst as comfortble w it as the 9mm G17. My Beretta Brigadier is still a my "racecar" shooting weapon. For me nothing shoots faster and accurate as the 92. Not the easiest conceal carry however. Practice makes perfect :) GREAT VIDS!
G43 all day every day in summer. I’m so used to it is now my year round go to. Yes I carry a second mag. I’m good with large weapons. I carried a p220 believe it or not but in my new job and dress shirts tucked the full size 45 was to much.
Gotta agree. Most guys I talked to mentioned the 19 as an excellent first gun. My only beef: ( Really with most all I’ve looked at ) being left-handed, gotta learn manipulation differently from most everybody else.
I'd trust my glock 19 with my families lives as mine as well. I have owned sigs Taurus Smith n Wesson karr and Beretta. All very fine weapons but my glock is the only one I still have.
The ONLY issue I've had with Glock, is the mag... and that's only when left loaded for a while, and it didn't want to cycle as normal.... but the nice thing is all you gotta do is hit the release.. or just replace mag/ or mag spring...
They kinda have one for the .45. It's a. 45 GAP. I don't know the model number but I saw it on Tactical Riflemans channel. But you should look it up. Not .45 ACP but has the same amount of powder and projectile. Check out his Why this Green Beret chooses a Glock or something like that.
Not the perfect handgun but a really good option in most cases. Falls a little short ergonomically from my experience but I'm still very happy with my G19. I don't think the perfect handgun exists but some are an excellent compromise like the G19.
@@flintymcduff5417 I have no problem with 92 but I don't like safety, or ambi and they are clunky a little, but has the best feed ramp angle and may be the king of dependability and rugged as it gets, almost bought that newer stainless one, just stunning looks on the 92.
My first pistol, I got 3 of them Great review I also got a Sig P 228, the compact version of the Sig 226, I think that's the one the G19 shoulde be compared to IMHO
Hey great video. I am new to your channel. I was wondering if you had to pick a glock 19 or p320 which one would it be?. I carry a glock 42 or 43. I want one for the house. Thanks for any advice.
I use a Glock 17M, I'm a big fan of the enhancements with that model. I also have a Glock 32 I use as a carry gun, same dimensions as a G19, but fires the superb .357 Sig round.
Like I'm watching a gun video from 1988 lol Granted, I am a Glock fanboy, I have 9 different Glocks wih my primary carry being my modded Gen 4 G19 (stippled grip with no finger grooves, sights, ghost connector, etc). The G19 is certainly size efficient, amazing size for a 15+1. However, with that said, most modern handguns can do what I Glock can, in terms of durability, quality. Maybe not size wise but still, the M&P, CZ, Sig, HK, etc, etc are durable and quality, Glock's equal in many ways.
I’ve purchased a new ejector, barrel, stainless steel guide rod, and a backplate. I’ve had no issues with it being stock, I just wanted to customize it.
Thats all good but if you run into issues (which I doubt) don’t keep tinkering.. just go back to OEM!! (Assuming its your CC pistol) My Gen 4 F.S. is all stock from factory. I only added a grip plug lol probably will do a trigger undercut as well
Fantastic video!!! I have been looking at purchasing a Glock 19 G5 in the near future. I currently on a bd carry a Glock G21 & absolutely love it. I’m sure I would also like a G19 as well.
Look how flat and slik the glock is. It is a Very comfortable gun to consil. I've consiled a lot of guns. And in a wast line or pocket most guns poke and prod you especially while driving but not a glock.
Az Trigger: Thank you for your video. I,ve got several Glocks, included Glock 19, Gen 3. This last one exploded in my hands. I,ve read and heard a lot about. Glock is a good pistol for military, but not for civilian and sport use. Us civilians, enjoy spending 400 rounds at the range. We cannot afford other that reloaded ammunition, and you well know that Glocks (particularly Glock 19)do not accept handloaded ammunition. I,ve got a kaboom with my Glock 19. I tested the same handloaded 9mm. ammunition in my Beretta 92, in my Browning Hi-Power and in my Sig. No problem at all with those last 9mm. pistols. That's a real handicap for sport use of Glocks.
Jorge Zunino Glocks are used all the time in competition. Glock even has its own sport shooting organization, GSSF (Glock Sport Shooting Foundation). Glocks are not indestructible. Anything made by Man WILL fail eventually.
I just bought a gen 4 19. Using blazer brass about 50/150 came directly back at me. I switched over to winchester WB 115. I only had 3 come back at me. I did buy a glock that had the #30247 extracter factory new, which is the new one that fixed the issue in the first. place so my question is will the ejection issue fix itself as the gun breaks in or will i have to get on the horn with glock and play months of tag?
I shoot the P226 better then my G19, but the G19 is my fave Glock, I Shoot my first gun I bought in Jan 2012 better then my G19 also, the G23 in .40 because it has TFOs night sights
Hi jerdog3. Here are my thoughts on this. As for range ammo, if it is for target at shorter range, nearly anything that is commonly found and cheap will work from 115-147 grain. If you are shooting reactive targets, I prefer the heavier 147 Grain bullets. As for defense/carry, The Federal HST, Spear Gold Dot, and Underwood Ammo - all in +p and 124-147 grain is what I prefer.
Special forces are U.S. Army Green Berets all other U.S. military are Special Operations Forces not Special Forces in the case of USMC it's Special Operations Capable MARSOC are attached to JSOC or Joint Special Operations Command.
EVERY gun needs cleaning and lube. My uncle had his Glock 23 at the range and his stop cycling properly. I opened it up and it was gone dry and dirty....Glocks aren't beyond the laws of physics
Very true, but the Glock pistol is the easiest to maintain, clean and use. I own all different manufacturers guns and for my safety and my family's safety I carry a Glock 26 or G19, Just my opinion not to hurt anyone feelings and whatever pistol you think is best, I'm sure it is for you. Enjoy your day.
Durhamite77 hickok45 on RU-vid is the Glock master and he’s been shooting glocks and guns in general for years and says the manual says almost no lube . So when it comes to glocks his word counts more than gods word
@@clam741 no man's word is even near the word of God. The word says there is an eternal hell. You must be born again. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive Him as your Lord and Saviour and you will be saved from hell. Remember that Jesus Christ died for your sins, so you don't have to. And hickok45 doesn't know everything by the way lol.
Glock may very well be best handgun. "The perfect handgun" for all shooters. It's really what any civilian NEEDS. It's cheap. It's reliable. Tons of accessories. Proven. Which makes it likely THE gun shot most often. And the one you'll reach for in a "situation". A gun you're not going to be afraid to get a ding on or scratched. as y ou would on your $4000 custom 1911. Which are really just for status/bragging rights. They aren't practical. The tighter the tolerances the more likely they will jam if debris gets inside the gun...wont happen on a Glock. Why people nerd-out and go ga ga over custom 1911s that cost over $3000 is beyond me. Though i know why. IT's like buying a sports car that costs over a $100k. Most buyers have only average street driving skills and will never push their cars even halfway near it's potential. And will end up driving them no different than they would a Prius. Soo why spend $300,000 on a Ferrari? Waste of money. Just to get some looks of envy? No one needs 100 pistols.
Are you the judge for who needs what and how many they need? Why do you care what somebody else spends their money on? Does it affect you? And again you put yourself in the position of judge by deciding what ANY civilian needs. Glock is my first choice for carry but they don't fit everyone and other people have different preferences. I don't care what any one else carries. It's none of my business and it's nobody elses business either.
No I would go with the G45 MOS it is a way better option and the 43 and 48 MOS may be even better if you get the after market larger magazines. The 19 is now outdated.
Not a fanboy but a happy customer. I clean my G17 every 5000-7000 shots. Never had a problem. And I chose the G17 over the G18 because of my big hands. Other than that I would ha been happy with the G19 as well. My daughters is happy with her G26. Many parts are interchangeable...👍
I live the g19. When we hit Iraq, we turned in out M9s and were immediately issued g19s. And when we left we turned in the g19s and were reissued the M9s. I guess we were the test unit for the g19??
The 19 is ok but I like the 17 better but im not really a 9mm fan. I like my 20 and 21 much much better either the 17 or 19 same recoil, same reliability and more power
"What do the Navy Seals and Marine Special Forces" It's Navy SEAL, not Seal, and "Special Forces" refers exclusively (at least within the US military) to Army "Green Berets". The generic term for Army Rangers, Green Berets, Navy SEALs, Air Force PJs/CCTs, Marine Corps Raiders, etc is "Special Operations Forces" (SOF), not "Special Forces" (SF). I know it seems like semantics, but don't we get annoyed when folks incorrectly refer to magazines as "clips"?
This a video for the masses. And the masses/general public know all SOF as Special Forces. SEALs are special forces for all they care. When he said Marine Special Forces, did you know what he meant? Yes? Then he got his point across
I love the fact that the glock is simple but I still think that the sig and other double action side arms have is that if you have bad ammo or a light strike you don't have to reset the trigger. That's probably the only reason why I would get a double action instead of a striker.
Ridiculousness if I have a cartridge fail on the first strike anywhere but the range I'm ejecting it I don't have time to waste trigger pulls when I'm about to die
@@shannonandsheila1403 and if you have consistent light strikes? Well buddy the problem is more than likely your gun. Personal experience with a friend who refused to clean his glock 19 and had consistent misfires. We thought it was bad ammo...... nope wasn't the ammo. I pulled apart his glock and found out that he had gunk built up inside the striker pin housing. No amount of ejection of ammo was going to fix that problem. Point is its all dependent on the situation and conditions. Anything can happen, guns are man made and faults happen all the time.
