I owned the Glock 43x and I put a 150 rounds through it and left with a blister on my finger I traded it and got a Glock 26 gen5 and I really like it I put 1000 rounds through it not one issue and it’s very accurate.

@sarge131 thanks for sharing your experience. Compared to the Glock 48, the 43X t's not much fun to shoot. It's similar to the Sig 365XL in that regard. Both are mission specific tools designed for concealed carry. Great points about the plates. Unfortunately Glock does not provide any mounting plates. The Sig X-5 came with plates, the M&P CORE pistol came with plates, same with the Staccato P pistol. Since the G48 and the Sig P365XL have been my EDC pistols, I wasn't looking to purchase this specific pistol. However, I won the G43X in a raffle at a gun show...decided to upgrade it with the EPS and Suppressor height XS Night SIghts. Thanks for commenting!

@johnnail532 Thanks for commenting. Your brought up some great points. I like the DA/SA pistol. However, most people new to shooting will not train on the DA/SA trainstion. Go to any range and watch ... people just rack the slide and shoot in SA only. Very few follow the manual of arms and decock the pistol, fire the first shot in DA and transition to SA. In addition, unless the pistol has a decking mechanism, it can be a problem to safely decock for an inexperienced shooter. I've witnessed a couple of NDs when inexperienced folks try to manually decock a pistol in SA. My SIg 226 Legion in has a decocker so easy to put in back into DA at any time. I like DA/SA pistols, I own a few. I've trained with them and am proficient. However, most of the new folks I've seen in classes I've taught or attended who use a DA/SA pistol struggle to place the first shot accurately. ANd really struggle with consistent transition (trigger management) DA to SA. All of this can be address and fixed with training and practices. In my experience as an instructor, most new shooters learn faster with the consistent trigger pull of a striker fired pistol. These days folks can pick up a quality 9mm striker fired pistol for $500 or less- Used police trades around 350-400. The CZ Shadow 2 is $1000-$1500? My advise would be to purchase a full size striker fired pistol, a case of ammo, and class or two. Agree the 43X MOS is good for what it is and the specific niche it fills.

@@GunsGearOnTargetTrainingLLC as you are an experienced trainer I cannot argue with what you have seen. When I train a new person I am only dealing with one person so I can take more time to train them on my p229 or Walther p99. I usually start them out with a sa revolver and move them up to a sa/da revolver before introducing them to a semiautomatic- but I don’t have to deal with multiple people and it’s always a friend or family member that I’m working with one on one.

Mathew, you are 100% correct I did forget that. Good call out on your part. The other thing of course that this MOS model doesn’t come with is the mounting plate. Mike, I couldn’t agree with you more. In general, I don’t have red dots on any concealed carry pistols. That being said, I’ve never had a problem with concealing or presentations from the holster with a firearm that has a red dot or enhanced or improved sights. In the case of the Glock 43X I won that at a raffle. As such, I decided to add some things to it that normally I wouldn’t. Specifically the red dot. That being said, I have swapped out sights on virtually every Glock pistol I’ve owned. I’m not a fan of glocks plastic site design and prefer Iron sights that work for my older eyes. This usually involves tritium or fiber optic front sights. As an instructor I need to be able to demonstrate different types of firearms with different set ups. It’s also been very helpful for me as a student of the Gun to be confident on any platform regardless of how it’s set up. I’ve been fortunate to both teach and train extensively. And for me, having proficiency on any firearm regardless of how that firearm is set up, is essential. I know many people have different perspectives than mine. Over the years, I’ve learned always to listen, and be curious about different perspectives . As stated, I agree with you on virtually everything you said, with the exception of red dot snagging or sites preventing a smooth presentation. After three decades plus of carrying a pistol virtually every day. I’ve never had a problem with any pistol, hanging up or snagging or stopping a smooth presentation. It just has not happened to me. My primary carry pistol the past year has been the Sig 365 XL. I ran it with a red dot for a month and practiced with it fairly extensively. I took it (the red dot) off, like I have almost every carry pistol simply, because as you pointed out, from 3 to 10 yards that red dot is not going to make a huge difference. Now, the other side of that is red dots are faster when shooting multiple targets, or at distance than iron sites. They give the user more ability to focus exclusively on the target versus an iron sights. However, for an everyday carry pistol, I just didn’t find it a significant advantage. But, for the Glock 43X I wanted to try something different and because this pistol cost me nothing but a couple of raffle tickets, I decided to set it up the way I thought it would work great. And so far in training with it, it has performed as expected. The six MOA green dot is a game changer for me. An interesting sidenote, I have a couple of Range pistols with red dots. They’re dedicated to being a pistol that is shot on the range in competition or for this year. Joy of it. I find myself gravitating back to my range pistols with iron sites only. This just feels like homebase. It’s not better or worse it’s just what I am most comfortable with. However, when it comes to carbines or shotguns, I really do like a red dot on it and find I’m faster with the red dot on a carbine than I am with irons. Still after more than three decades, shooting pistols with iron sites, they are still my preference. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed perspective. I value that.

Alas, I'm the proverbial old canine resistant to new tricks. I'm a product (victim?) of career-long training, qualification and periodic requalification in small arms by the U.S. Navy - an organization singularly uninterested in potentially better ways of doing most anything, so please forgive my seeming close-mindedness. Like most people who have owned and shot pistols for many years, I guess I've managed to find what works best for me. Having a modest sized brain-housing group, keeping things simple and eliminating potential failure points is where I ended up. Keep up the great videos, I enjoy them a lot. Cheers.

Sir, that is a great question. I don’t recall off the top of my head. When I went to the XS website, I simply looked up suppressor heights site that would work with the hollow Sun EPS. For me, I’m always looking for back up sites anytime I’m running any kind of optic. These fit the bill very well. Thanks again for asking. Stay safe.
