If you're a new Glock handgun owner and want a detailed up close view of the Glock recoil spring assembly (RSA) mounted correctly on the barrel then this video is for you. A common problem for new Glock owners, as I was once, is not correctly placing the recoil assembly rod into the half-moon barrel lug indent. If not done correctly this will lead to problems. This video shows you a very up close and detailed view of where to properly place the recoil spring assembly on any Glock. I use the 43X MOS to demonstrate the recoil assembly rod placement in this video.
In this video I also compare a third-party stainless steel nickel plated recoil spring assembly to the Glock 43X MOS OEM RSA. I took the G43X to the shooting range and the steel performed well but with no noticaeable difference. I still keep the Glock's OEM recoil spring assembly in the gun at all times and have the steel RSA for backup. The Glock's RSA just works well. So, there are choices to be made based on your own beliefs or experiences. I have also read and seen here on other RU-vid channels that a heavier RSA will help with recoil. Although the stainless steel guide rod is twice the weight of the Glock OEM, my subjective opinion is that there is NO difference in recoil felt with either RSA using the same load. So, you let me know what you think in the comments.
