Fellas, the G43X is basically Glock’s mini G19. Especially with your 15 round mags! I am not exaggerating here, more than 6500 rounds in my 43x and i field strip and basic clean every 1500 rounds, probably more than needed. She will just eat everything all day. My life and my loved ones’ depend on my edc 43x errrrrrry dayyyyyyyyy. ❤
JG and I had the same conversation about the new trigger 6 months ago. My feedback to him was that it feels like you are trying to press against a hacksaw blade with the checkering on the safety and the over powered spring. I ground off and polished the safety and reduced the spring pressure which turned the trigger into a more pleasurable shooting experience. Of course then I had to do it for everyone else on my shooting team. I don't know why he has not addressed that yet. I just finished a Glock very similar to yours but using the Harrington comp and I totally agree with you that it makes shooting A LOT more enjoyable than without. Tango Down also makes a slide release that is worth looking at for these guns if you get a chance. Another fine video and was truly enjoyable. Please keep them coming. Looking forward to the Chi-Com .45 finish also.
The texture on the 4311 shoe is nice, just enough to know it’s there. But yes, that safety has too much spring. I did notice that if I took my finger, without gripping, if that makes sense, and pushed the safety and trigger back that the safety would clear. It was only when I gripped the pistol and then pulled that it wouldn’t. But I noticed that my finger was also contacting the shoe at the same time as the safety so it didn’t have time to clear. Regardless, less spring is the answer. I was really looking at the HA comp but they seemed to be out when I was ordering stuff. But I’m glad I found the PMM because it really is nice and finished the pistol off really well. I’ll look at Tango. Always good to have a myriad of parts in mind for potential projects. The Norc will be a few vids down the line most likely while it’s waiting for its special thing to happen. Once it happens it will come back with a vengeance. 🤔 pretty sure I have a 10/22 that’s been waiting
For people who are considering stippling, try the hog handle pull over grip. It is amazing on this gun. I also really like the Glock store tungsten guide rod replacement which dramatically reduces muzzle flip in this compact pistol it shooting a Glock 17 with those two mods.
Thank you for this video. I recently installed the 4311 trigger & am having the same "issue" as you were with the saftey hitting the body upon the first round being fired. Thanks to you i dont need to waist any of Johnny's time. My guess is they do it simply to cover their ass. Someone with hard fingers will gave 0 issues. People like us with bigger "softer" fingers have this issue & its a simple fix. Eajsier to cut down a spring a little vs having saftey tab issues due to them being too soft right out of the gate. Thanks again for this video!
While I understand some people have had problems with Shield mags I have two Gen 2 Shield with over 3k each and I have had one stovepipe in over 3k rounds in each mag. I think it's the tolerances in both the Glock and the magazines that cause issues. I've seen a-lot of people like me who really haven't had a issue to speak of. Buy the latest version and you shouldn't have a issue. I like the fact they drop free really easy compared to stock magazines .
I built the same setup lolz I put G19 mag springs and followers in my gen 2 SA mags. Pure tungsten guide rod Feed ramp and everything else polished. Nice build brother
Love it. Thank you. Been wanting to do the same with my Glock 43x. A lot of people under estimate the 43x. With the right upgrades it would be rocking reliable 43x
Hey Brock, just so you know. Federal fusion are Bonded soft points and are the same bullet as gold dot. Federal oens speer. They are also almost the exact same round internally. The only difference is that gold dot is nickel plated brass, uses Federals match AR primers, and primer laquer to help seal from moisture. Damage on target will be almost exactly the same, but the gold dot has those extra reliability, and I'm sure QC out of the factory.
Thanks! So far the Shields have been holding up for me (gen 3) and I just did some tests with 115, 124, and 147g range ammo and same weights with JHPs. No issues Thanks for watching!
Liked the video and I just subscibed because of it, what reddot are you running, do you have other reddots or optics that you've ran on it, and what if any differences have you seen with them if any?
I appreciate that! Hopefully I can continue to provide value. The dot is an EPS Carry by Holosun. I’m running the 6 moa which I really like. I do have the 407, 509 acss, and a Deltapoint Pro but these have not been mounted on the 43x. I like the 6 moa personally for how I like to shoot. I also chose the EPS Carry because it’s enclosed so the emitter is protected. But plenty of people have run open emitters. It’s ultimately going to come down to what you prefer from your dot. Moa, window size, purpose of the pistol, etc.
I had the same problem with my trigger Safety and I took 3 1/2 coils and that did the trick for me. Also, I use blue loctite, but it came loose after 500 rounds. So I reached out to Jonny and he told me to use red Loctite instead and it’s been holding up since. Just FYI.
Very clean bro 🔥🔥 got two recommendations to fully complete this build 1.Empire Katana V3 Magwell and 2.Night fision lower 1/3s blacked out rear sight and tritium front night sight again badass build brother🔥🔥🔥
Thanks! Its was fun to do and even better to shoot. I’ve been going back and forth on magwells but I’ll check out the Empire. Same with sights…especially since I’d need to bust that comp loose 🤣
@@nobodytraining magwells for me is a must cuz not only do they help with reloads they also lock in your grip even tighter on the frame love it and the sight is just cuz glock sight are plastic and had them break and walk off before lol
Just got my Johnny Glock 4311 trigger installed in my Glock 43x waiting on my katana v3 mag well in the mail and got a tango down vickers tactical slide lever coming into my gun store Tuesday gonna get my Glock 43x cerakoted again too
No worries. What can happen is that when you are moving the slide or racking it, if the meat of your palm gets between the front of the slide and the comp it can catch you. Not pleasant
I’m glad you enjoyed! For appendix, I have a local guy that will make for me. He does nice work. That will happen in the next couple of weeks. I also ordered an OWB from fourbrothers. There holster is QLS compatible so we will see how it does! Don’t add any extra holes yourself!
I did the same exact thing to my 43X but trying to find a holster is difficult, I had to go to a 48 mos holster and Tier 1 has them but I'm looking for a leather holster that has a extra mag holder is this configuration, but great video Bro!
I have a local guy that built my last holster for my 43. Does a nice job. He’s going to build for the 43x. I also just ordered a holster from fourbrothers. It’s an OWB and is QLS compatible. Works with a 43x/48
If I add up the price of my build it wouldn't matter because it's a second ammendment right that i have as a hobby. I pray Trump wins we need a pro gun president.
Does your little spring loaded gas pedal impact your holster options? Any clearance issues? What do you use to carry? I have a safariland Solis and its been good to me.
Damn good video brother got to love the surprise that keep showing up. I have almost the exact same set up with my 43x. I went with the Tungsten guide rod.
New sub here. I like what you're doing. I can't say this enough when it comes to the trigger safety pin. Use lots of loctite. Mine would keep backing out and I would lose it. That's with my G45 though, but Im sure its the same on the 43x.
You actually got a defective unit and JG would replace it. Something like 100 triggers he said went out that weren't right and he's since switched manufacturers.
I run a very similar set up. Few minor differences. And I love it. My S15s have been hit or miss. I’ve had 5 failure to feeds across roughly 1200 rounds. Not ideal. Also, I want to add the micro wing, but in my experience, the 43x frame flexes wayyyy too easily. When I grab my weapon light to make sure it’s snug, I can rock the frame rail enough to interfere with the slide. I’m worried if I put the wing on I’ll have even more leverage when shooting. How does that compare to your experience?
Well this is only 300rnds so take it this with a grain of salt. I’m not seeing any slide/frame wear from the use of the wing so far. I have to push harder on the wing than my “normal” grip to get it to flex enough to touch the slide. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t happening during the firing cycle. My 43x frame does bend slightly up at the front as well. But that can be taken care of. On your s15 mags, what ammo are you running when it happens? And is it one particular mag or several?
I had the 43x mos and 48 mos shot, both of them once, and sold the right away. I hated the recoil on them. If I would know about the upgrades you are doing plus a guiderod, I probably would still have them. I will get the JG completed kit for my G45 MOS, I never upgraded any internals, but I am going to get the competition trigger kit for mine but will still EDC it. I bought one SA Mag, and it never loads all rounds, and I personally had issues constantly with the mag. I still have the Nice video
It was a noticeable difference. Just make sure that match your recoil spring to whatever load you are going to use. I’ll be doing a video on that next. Thanks for watching!
There really isn’t a need to remove the barrel/comp. I have about 1200rnds on it so far and have cleaned it only once (I’m checking reliability, cleaned at 1k). It wasn’t bad to clean. Using qtips I could do a pretty good job. But if you needed to remove the barrel, heat and then do reverse of the install
Can I borrow that paper towel? Love the sense of humor and nice carry. are you shoving in down your pants yet after a month? first time i've seen that wing. I don't have a light on mine as I'm never out after dark and if I am it's a well lit city scape anyway so I'll have to skip adding the wing. Might have to add a comp one day but then I'm just waiting for PSA to drop their micro Sabre C1 that I'll switch to. Great vid
I hate shooting slim frame guns I love carrying them but there my most hated ones in collection and I think about getting rid of my 43x and my 48mos .if someone wanted to buy them I'd sell them I love my 19 mos and my 19x and my 47mos I feel like all my needs are taken care of also the Johnny glock trigger like 3 hundred just get a ghost connector and a agency trigger or apex your gonna save a lot and be very happy .
Serious question. I’ve owned several pistols with comps. I usually wound up taking them off because of the hassle they were to remove and reinstall for cleaning. Have you cleaned the pistol yet and if so do you think the comp is worth the extra effort it takes to remove and reinstall?
It’s a legit question. I haven’t detail cleaned it yet but figured that it will represent a challenge with the barrel kinda locked in place. Maybe once I get it a little bit more fouled up I’ll do a quick video. It’s definitely not something someone instantly thinks about when they buy a comp. I didn’t
@@nobodytraining I am a youtuber as well and kind of did the same way. I only used blue on mine so it wasn’t as bad to get off but still got to be a hassle. I love the 43X but gravitate more towards the XMacro and AXG Legion 365 now
@gearrunner I don’t plan on taking it off unless I absolutely have to. I should be able reach most of the critical areas but ya, will take a little extra time. What were you running (comp) and how often were you cleaning it? I run my Glocks pretty dirty I’ll find your channel and take a peak!
@@nobodytraining I ran it on a custom Glock 19 that Dynamic Weapon Solutions did for me. I was carrying it at the time and I always clean my carry pistols after every 400-500 rounds. I just want to make sure they are clean and oiled Incase I ever need it.
DOPE build but definitely not touching much on my edc especially not the trigger. And prob just rock my g19 vs adding all the extra stuff. Great vid tho 👍🏽👍🏽
Yes the pinky plays an important role in recoil control. But you may want to look into race gun design and why they have gas pedals. Then you can apply it to, for example, Glock frames and why people do things like stippling or creating small thumb ledges forward of the take down.
@@nobodytraining hey bud great video. Exactly what I was looking for! What kind of tool you used to get the safety out f the trigger? I can’t tell on your video is it a torx 6 . What kind of screw is that? Man you did an AWESOME job. Please let me know, I can’t stand hitting the frame every time I shoot😊
@charlesruiz6492 Thanks! I like being useful on occasion 🤣 I used a 1.3 hex on that safety. I bought one of those kits off of Amazon that you would use to work on a cell phone. Has all kinds of tiny and odd ball bits. Hope that helps!
I’m currently running it in a 4Brothers holster (G48) that I had to modify it bit. Added some kydex on the inside to keep the wing from opening. It was catching on the relieved area for the mounting screws. The holster ok. It’s not a “duty” durable holster and I knew that going in. I got it for testing the pistol on the range.
@southwesthellraisers4931 I’ve been testing (OWB) the reliability of it before I carry it. I’m at 1200 rounds and it’s done well. I have a guy who is going to make an IWB for me when he has a moment.
@@nobodytraining no I’ve ran a g26.5 w a mag extension for 4 years and looking to slim down in width and grip length but keep the barrel length so I can pocket carry if need be now that I have my son. It’s shadow systems 43x with factory 15rd capacity
@patricksnyder9530 I have seen the X. Grip texture looked better than the 43x. Trigger will also be better than stock. And it does look snazzy. Question is if the premium for the shadow systems is worth it (I think it $200-300 more) vs tinkering with the 43x?
@@nobodytraining I’m a mechanic and build and in build and do all types of stuff on this one 26 so I feel 43x and the upgrades might save a lil buck to spend on the kiddo
So far it’s held. Granted it’s only been 300 rounds but it’s torqued on pretty well so I don’t see any reason why it would fail. If it had set screws like some others I’d be more concerned. If it does come loose, I’ll just use rockset.
Sometimes those thumb rests open on their own when pulled from a holster. I guess if you are shooting competion. It gets worse. Just look at "The Glockstore" the "Gas Pedal" is semi -permanent. In order to remove the slide, the Gas Pedal, a steel thumb rest-watch the video, is about 70.00. Lenny, the creep, who is loosing his business quickly (He is putting out a video every 2 days, claims the Gas Pedals have been around for 30 years. Just watch some of the videos. He went from 50-60 to about 12 employees. As is was in CA 95% of his business is internet sales. His range is slick. There is just little to no traffic. Watch for some serius sales in the futurs. The worst thing for any retailer is massive stock. He has more than he knows what to do with it.-Best of luck, God bless.
That’s the whole point of shooting 1000 rounds. To go through and test it. Along with numerous weight and shape JHP’s. Test its reliability. Having shot 1k fmj and a couple hundred JHP’s, yes I would.
@nobodytraining if it was me I did it seems smart to me if want less recoil than a 48 does it instead of comps and aftermarket stuff on a carry gun just ain't my jam .
I just can't get behind the 43x, its like a 19 with none of the benefits. Conceals the same, at least for me. I bought one, wanted to love it but just couldn't.
It definitely does not conceal nearly as comfortable for me (I live in Florida) I don’t get to wear heavy clothes so the slimmer profile is very noticeable and appreciated as well as the fact that’s it’s also lighter
I have rmrcc and tlr7 sub, talon grips, suppressor height ameriglo sights, and I kept the stock trigger but changed out the trigger shoe with a flat face aftermarket. I forget the name of it but it's much more comfortable. I don't touch the internals of my carry guns.
