I got the 43x not to long ago. Fell in love with it on day 1. Extremely reliable. I don’t dare use PSA or Shield 15 round mags. Glock is all stock and OEM mags. The more reliable the better if that day ever comes.
I also carry the 43X MOS and have never had any issues with any Shield Arms mags…after 1000 rounds through my gun I now trust them but I mainly carry my X Macro Legion b/c I have 17 rounds of OEM mags
PSA mags are reliable so far from the reviews I haven’t seen barely 10 ppl say something bad abt PSA mags but I have heard of Shields causing malfunctions
I have both and choose to carry the 43X because it is easier and more comfortable to carry. I'm not as concerned with capacity as I am with comfort and weight; every ounce matters and every quarter inch of balk matters. It will probably never be needed and if it is in all probability only a few shots will be required. When I carried the G19 I would tend to leave it home, but the 43x is a good compromise that I will actually carry and I shoot it well. Sometimes I even grab and go with my G42; an extra mag is easier to carry also. All of life is a compromise.
One important difference that you didn’t address is grip circumference and trigger reach which is why some are willing to give up the 5 extra rounds and choose the 43X over the 19. It has nothing to do with capacity or grip length or overall thickness. The grip circumference does make a substantial difference to those with smaller hands and the ability to get a proper grip on the draw and finger placement on the trigger which is essential to recoil control and accuracy. Just food for thought. Nice comparison, hope this helps understand why some choose the 43X.
The answer is simple. The 43 X is LIGHTER.....for all day carry. You don't feel it. What I don't understand.....is how Glock allows Shield to make them look so stupid.....by building 15 round magazines for the 43 X ! I mean.....that is just am embarrassment for Glock. What are they waiting for?
I will not give up my glock 19 for a slightly smaller gun. I know what they all say statistics show you don't need that many rounds. However for that little of a difference, I don't see why anyone would choose the 43x? I understand a much smaller gun, like a snub nose or maybe a phoenix .22 that is way smaller. I look at it this way, if I am protecting myself and my family why would I not want the most protection I can for conceal carry. I can carry 30 rounds easily vs 20, andI can add a light to my 19 so I can safely identify at night.
I used to carry a g19. I'm a slim guy and I now carry a g48 because it's more comfortable for me personally. Your points are very valid. To me the grip doesn't really matter because people don't pay attention to anything. Their to busy looking at their phone. And I live in Georgia .
It depends on how you are built. If you are thin and you have smaller hands then the 43x fits you better. They are not exactly the same size. The 3/4" longer barrel of the 19 sometimes peaks out from under my shirt if I reach for something or bend over. I never want anyone to notice that I am armed. Sometimes the 19 feels a little too heavy and it pulls down on my pants. The 43x is 6 ounces lighter. I carry all day, every day and iIt makes a difference. The flatter gun rides closer to my body. It prints less. I can carry an extra mag on my offside to balance the load on my belt if I want too. That's 20 rounds on tap if I need them. We all make our choices based on the way we go about our lives. Nobody said you have to like it, understand it or use it yourself. If you want to carry a desert eagle, knock yourself out.
If you carry appendix, the length of the slide does matter. a lot! and I would give up five extra windows to be comfortable, a Glock 43x is a lot thinner than a 19 and now you can get a shield arms gen3 magazines
Hi, thanks for the important video. I think one of the main reasons for preferring the 43X is the comfort of the grip and the compact look and feel. Could you please elaborate more on the actual difference in shooting experience?
@tomermarom The G43x has more recoil because of being lighter which makes follow.up shots harder in a stressful situation. So you have less capacity in a gun that is harder to shoot. Not a good combination. Thanks you for watching
It gets tiring people like you one size fits all, I won't what fits( my ) attitude what I think is better fore me, I own both guns and both are accurate shooters, my 43x has the shield arms magazine 15 rounds,I have shot about 500 rounds with these magazine, I have had gun for 6o years, I carry different guns for different occasion 😅and I bet their are many people that like the 43x. This one size fits all is outdated 😮.
Aftermarket mags. Gun has to be modified to make them work. I do notnuse Aftermarket mags. I get it. People love that little gun and want to believe it is the best. Donwhat works for you. Thank you for watching
I traded my Glock 26 for the 43x. I still have my Glock 19, so I've got the best of both worlds. I'm considering switching to appendix carry, so I'm thinking the shorter barrel will be good for that. Am I wrong?
If it’s OWB I would go with the bigger gun for EDC. It’s more comfortable to carry OWB. If Its IWB carry I would choose the thinner lighter gun. Good video.
You safety checked both of those 9mm before the comparison and for that I thank you !😅. But if that had been a .45 I would have got nervous, probably have to watch from a distance behind a safe wall. I have both and my 43x is what I carry, because its shorter, lighter, and thinner than the 19, AND Shield Arms makes all metal and reliable 15 rd mags for my 43x .
Shield arms requires modifying a gun to make it as good as the G19 is out of the box. The G26 also accepts g19 mags stock. Just a thought. Thanks for watching
@@TerryBenton they recommend changing the mag catch to a metal one ( because they don’t recommend having a plastic catch on a metal mag) which they provide, and takes all of 30 seconds to get done. So actually, you now have better gun than a 19 out of the box.
@@TerryBenton My 43x is my light carry. My daily is a 48xMOS with. An EPS Carry red dot, and a TLR-7 light. I’ve also been known to carry my Kel-Tec PA3T with some super hot +Ps. I only point this out because you repeatedly yourself about 6 times with “why would anybody choose the 43x over a 19.” And I’m also a firm believer…if you need 16-30 round for defensive carry, you are either a poor shot, or your in a fire fight with the wrong weapon.
As a 57 year old woman with medium size hands. As you know GRIP is everything. I struggle with gripping the G19 properly. It’s too wide for my hands. Now the 43x is perfect for my medium size hands. I am not giving up on my G19, I go to the range weekly to learn how to shoot it. It’s just that darn grip…making my shots go the left….
I’m pretty sure people are going crazy over the 43x because you can buy flush fit 15 round mags or you could at one time I’m not sure the mags are made anymore
Mec-Gar is oem for most and it’s what I usually buy. I think shield arms was the one making 15 rounders for the 43x but don’t know much about shield arms
The Dagger micro 15rd mags fit the 43x as well. Both the shield and Dagger mags seem to be very reliable options according to what I've been seeing. I don't understand why glock just doesn't make a 15rd mag. Obviously the 43x will accommodate it. And, they'd make a killing on them as much as they charge for mags.
I actually do not have small hands. The 43x is an adequate gun at beat but makes no sense in the conceal carry world. I have several videos that I compare ot to other options and they always shine in features. I am glD that you enjoy your 43x. You do you
I have the 43X but I want the 19 or 49. The wider ones shoot so much better and hold more. I don’t really understand the modern craze for short barrels.
I think the marketing gimmick is that it's more concealable. In reality, i would choose shootability over concealability .... i know a handful of people who carry 34s. And it make sense. Its their comp gun, they shoot it well. They dont care if it prints. 99% of people can't even tell if you print. Only the ones that carry can call out a print. Just say it is your diabetic monitor, urostomy bag, colostomy bag, ileostomy bag, insulin pump, pain pump, etc......
Welp, moving over from Springfield subcompact were my flush mag holds 13 plus 1 and the standard is 16 plus 1 but not the hellcat, trying to decide what to now carry. Im looking to also get a carbine 16in barrel so im thinking the 19 would be better for what im looking for. On top of i only run night sights so im interested in a red dot. So what i got from this video is they are the same gun, one stock has more rounds, however both can take aftermarket parts, which i thought was a big thing with glock but actually finding out the glock crowd is actually split. Some will rin aftermarket but others see no point. Overall im glad to be getting into Glocks. I've a couple Springfields and the p365 so im excited to pop my glock cherry
Thank you for your assessment and comparison. I am 68 looking to down-size from 45 ACP steel service in addition to an old Commander. My muskels have gotten weaker hence, my grip on the guns 💪🏻had too. I despise packing/dressing ANYMORE for guns. Plumb wore out. The 19 seems to be the ween’er for this old coot 😅 Cheers!
I agree, the strongest trait and the the reason i prefer the 9mm is for its firepower. If I will choose between an FN TAC .45 and Beretta 92xi that both has 18 rounds. I will pick the 45 ACP.
Correct. Nobody takes into account that it requires extra firepower when using a 9mm. If those same folks were given a choice between a 10 rd 9mm pistol and a 15 round 22lr. I have a g19 and I am looking for a better carry gun right now. I love shooting the 19 and shoot well with it, but I just don't like carrying it. I'm not sold on the 43x, I am looking at the 26 which I have shot and like just not sure if the thickness which is the same as the 19 will bother me and the gun is still around 500 dollars even for a previous generation. Not sure what to go with. I am not getting rid of the 19 though.
Idk why ppl are so hung up on everything having to be oem parts. Yeah when it comes to internal parts I don't mess with but psa makes some great 15 mags that run just as good as oem mags. 43x all day my favorite carry
Have both a early 43X with silver slide and Gen 4 19 but the new Glock 49 is very appealing in that it's a 19 with 17 slide . However my favorite 9mm is the Glock 26 Gen 5 MOS when my G30 is taking it easy.😂
O. You have to use aftermarket mags. And what is the advantage of carrying a conceal gun you make more bulky by adding an optic you will never efficiently use under stress when you need it
