So you kinda got it right. The glock barrel allows for more tolerance for the bullet meaning the bullet fits loosley. Also, once the bullet is sitting in the chamber it is not fully supported around the brass. Where the feed ramp meets the barrel, it is cut away and allows some of the brass to be exposed instead of having the barrel fully engulf the brass. This allows a weak spot for high pressure bullets and a place that can blow out. This tolerance allows dependable feeding of the bullet into the barrel but leaves a weak spot. Don't make it a habit of shooting the wrong bullets.
The best course of action would be to get a aftermarket barrel especially in 40 s&w. I most likely will be doing this for my Gen 4 G22. While I’m at it I’ll be getting a 357 Sig barrel for kicks and giggles.
This is why I don’t own glocks no more, I had a glock 19 blow up in my hand , and I was shooting Winchester white box 115 gr , I got lucky just got a few burns and some bruising,
Catastrophic failures can happen regardless if there's a partially unsupported chamber or not. One reason Glock states in the owners not to use reloaded ammunition in Glocks. Seen this happened to aftermarket barrels not just factory.
@@leoguy1609 I no u are not supposed to shoot lead rounds in them , and hard cast bullits , and any gun can brake but I’ve never had a gun explode in my hand and I’m 50 years old and have been shooting guns all my life and I was a glock fan , I remember my brother used to poke fun at me about the unsupported chamber on the glocks and telling me it was going to blow up in my hand he was kinda kidding me but a little serious cause of all the videos on RU-vid of them blowing up, and it happened he was with me after he seen I was ok he poked and made fun of me and telling me he new it would happen, but I tell u when u have a gun blow up in your hand u will not trust that brand no more , I will never own another glock, they probably used to be the bests polymer pistol made but in the last 8 to 10 years they are so many guns that are just as good if not better and look better have more options and good triggers at the same price or cheaper
@@GunOwnersRadioit blowed the case out from the unsupported chamber, it crack the frame and blowed the mag out and the magazine catch, and broke the extractor, and burned and bruised my hand up, I got lucky because some people have lost fingers from it
