How do you properly aim like that? Have a 19 gen 4 and I go to the range at least once a month but I can’t really seem to get my aim any better than it already is.
It is a right off the people and restriction on government. So idk what point you are making work the permission slip content but the 2nd amendment is the permit/license to buy, sell, and/or lend weapons off any kind. PERIOD!
Back in the day at a training course, the range instructor called my Gen2 Model 19 , "Tactical Tupperware"....Had a gen1 Model 17 and thought the mags were defective as they wouldn't drop free when empty. Learned later that the Austrian military wanted them that way due to winter weather.
Yep and that was what the finger notches in front of and behind the magazine were made for that everyone seems to complain about nowadays. It was made to pull the magazine out because they wouldn't drop free. Also the original magazine base plates were super thin and made it impossible to grasp.
Watching this with my P80 holstered on my hip while on boring duty. Greetings from the Austrian Army 🇦🇹 (We use the Gen 3 now but its still called P80 and has P80 engraved on the slide)
Great video! Reminded me of when our department transitioned from wheel guns to the Glock Model 19. We had a Glock rep come in and talk to our range officer about switching. Our Range Officer wanted nothing to do with “plastic guns” the rep took the barrel out of the gun put it in a Vice, handed him a hack saw and told him if he could make a mark on it the gun was his. ( he didn’t do it) then there was the accidental discharge question. The rep loaded the mag, put it in the gun and THREW it the full length of the range smashing into the steel backstop. No Problem! We went with the 9mm Model 19 for the Uniform and Detective Bureau. Thanks for the memories.
Being a disabled US Marine Combat veteran who served in Iraq...and loves Glocks and building P80s, I like to say I have learned something everyday. Well, once again you, your son, and this channel have taught me something. I have NEVER heard of this model of Glock and I just wanted to let you know that I love your videos and you taught this old dog a new trick!!!! Stay safe!!
It's amazing how much screwing around they've done with the handle only to come back full circle. All it really needs is maybe interchangeable back straps. The original was really the best grip.
I love how Buds sends you brand-new pistols on loan. When you return them used they most likely sell for more than new because hickok 45 ran a bunch of lead through them.
While the 1911 will always be my favorite, this P80 stands a good chance of becoming my favorite Glock. Primarily because of the grip. I would LOVE to see more Glocks offered with that style grip. The checkering on Glocks is probably the chief thing I dislike on them, and that smoothly pebbled all around grip looks like it would be all-day comfortable at the range.

@clmns Just a minor clarification: "Self defense" means home defense. That might not be obvious to an American. Concealed carry licenses are very rare in Austria as well as in Germany. I'm a german glock owner, in Germany we're a bit more fscked by the government concerning the question. No self defense reason allowed, but licensed sports shooters and hunters can acquire up to two handguns without extensive bureaucracy. With proof of necessity for different sporting uses, sports shooters can get more.
If money is a concern, plenty of online retailers sell Glock 22s, 17s, and 19s for $200 less than a new pistol. They say police guns are carried a lot but fired not that much... so they still have lots of life in them.
Tell you what, with ammo supply where it is, that brass he has onsite may be a goldmine! Of course, you need powder (limited avail for certain brands/types), bullets (pretty scarce) and the pinnacle of all unicorns, PRIMERS. Heck I couldn't even find 9mm dies for my Lee press.
Why in the world would you even consider loading 9mm? It spits brass 10' away. I sure as heck wouldn't chase all that brass. Save your 9mm and shoot .38 ,357 and 44 keep that brass contained
I really love the simplicity of the front end of the frame. Personally not a fan of hanging lights off of pistols so I appreciate the simple lines of pistol frames lacking the “tacti-cool” under frame rails.
But having a flashlight for target identification isn't "tacticool" it's an objectively beneficial addition for any situation in low light places. Tacticool would be the massive flared magwells or the skeletonized slides with more hole than slide.
“Here is the Certificate of Authenticity so you know it is an authentic reproduction.” LOL. Whenever I watch one of Hickok’s videos I understand how RBGs admirers felt. I don’t want to think about Hickok not gifting the gun community with his knowledge, wit, and kindness. One of a kind!
That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. It dosen't show up on you airport X-ray machines, and it cost more than you make here in a month.
A glock head since the early 90s. Had a gen 1 model 21 and boy, would it run. So good to see a glock video with so many haters out there. Being open minded always leaves you with so many more options. Love to the gong!
I remember we were stationed in Italy and went to Austria... talking to the guys in the Military there... and we called that Gun the "Hermann Munster"... 80's
@@xeronicus He's also a conservative. Dems tried to appeal to the moderate Trump supporters this time. If anyone comes for guns, it's that ghoul Kamala.
I am an old revolver guy who came to Glock only lately, that said my G19 & G34 are of the Gen 3 iteration and I have never seen any gen 1 or gen 2, I hear tell of their existence but like Loch Ness & Big foot are to me only folklore. Thanks for what to me is new and to others flashback in time. (:
The first time i saw a Glock, i was active Army. As an officer, we trained with the 1911. I guess it was 1986 or so, and someone picked up a Glock and brought it to the Range for a semi-annual qualification. (Actually the Qual was yearly, but we did it more often) HOLY CRAP---- We were blown away with it.
Hickok Henry sidegates for steel and color case receivers just came out. Can we hope for a review? A 30-30 or 44 in color cased would make for a terrific viewing.
Cooking my turkey watching Hickok45. Aggravating my wife with the sound of gunfire as she tries to watch TV. He just sold me another Glock. If my wife divorces me, it is Hickok45’s fault. Life is good. Thanks for bringing happiness in these troubling times.
I got the Glock P80! The original Glock P80 only come out in Austria for the 🇦🇹 Austrian Army! By the time it got to the US it was called the Glock 17 gen 1. The original G P80 had a pencil like barrel were you could not shoot hot +p ammo! Now the remake P80 like in this video or what we got does not have the pencil barrel and you can shoot hot +p ammo through it! I dont recommend the +p+ to be shot through Glocks, though it can be done a few times for test! Glocks are normally rated +p only! I bought this G P80 3 years ago! I was going to put it up in my safe just for collection but i said no i will use it some! It shoots good! I had night sights put on mine! I recommend just to leave Glocks factory! One day this might be a rare collection!!!
If I recall correctly, they quit making boxes like that when some guy here in Atlanta tried to put his loaded and cocked Glock 17 into the box and that post pushed the trigger back and he got shot in the leg. I suppose he carries the dubious distinction of being the first to afflicted with a case of "Glock Leg."
It is alleged that Mr. Glock said, "Why would Americans put a loaded gun in the storage box?" IIRC, that's when Glock added a wing to the box's center post.
I remember when Glocks first came out,I said and I quote, " there's no way I would own a gun made out of plastic" fast forward to the present, I now own 3 Glocks. A Gen 4 G19, Gen 3 G26, and a Glock 30s. I still need a G17 and at least a G21. Never say never! Lol
Glad that they decided to put this out. Really awesome for collectors and us Glock nerds out there. I’m curious to see what other people think would be a good reproduction glock. I wouldn’t mind seeing them re-produce some fish fill RTF2 models or maybe even the 17L and G24.
The fact that people are gonna collect this Glock is unbelievable!!! I’m gonna use mine for self defense and of course it’s a Glock it’s gonna be reliable 700$ for it not to shabby but the actual first gen 1 from back in day run for 2k 3k that a collectable Glock right there I wouldn’t shoot that at all

In 2012 i put a 23 gen4 on layaway and came into look at it and make a payment . it was black and had rust on the slide that wasnt there before so i asked for a different one.. The sales man and i were both baffled but he had a FDE so i grabbed that. Love the gen4's too Hickock!
