Light Heavyweight Champ Artem Vakhitov defends his belt against Middleweight champion Alex Pereira in this collision between two of the best in the world. 2021.01.30
@@mashadow21Your cognitive ability must be lacking lol. The interview I'm talking about outlines how Glory has dropped in their ability to attract top-tier performances.....which would entail MORE poor performances by BAD athletes. You're clearly dim minded. You must fight for Glory
@@auglazeallday5335 ufc just hypes and promites specific fighters hard, so you will remember it as a "big event". But was it? You just jumped a hype train, i watch UFC, bellator, etc to see fights not interviews.
@@mashadow21 What are you talking about, mate? Are we talking about Glory or UFC? I'm 47 years old and have been watching the UFC since I was a teenager. You think I don't know the tactics of promoting a fight? Dana White is a better fight promoter than Don King! He's just not a pos like King. If you're trying to build a sport then you have to hype fights to build interest....this is as old as mankind has been trying to sell something but your comment wasn't about hyping fights. My comment was about an interview where two of GLORYS baddest moťhèr$ùckers talked about Glory dropping the ball because their talent pool sucks! Go learn something before you make snide comment......You're welcome
I am coming back and watching these fights after Alex has made his transition to MMA. Man this is an awesome fight. Vakhitov is a beast. It's a shame Glory dropped him.
Just came here to see what he’d look like at light heavyweight. He can easily fight at 205, considering he’s fighting here at 209. Makes me think how a fight against him vs Rozenstruik would be. Two great kickboxers who both came from Glory. Rozenstruik is obviously the heavier guy but Alex is very big as well and a better technical striker.
Vakhitov is tough as nails, gave Po Atan all the punishment. Only shows the resilience Alex has, It’s no wonder this dude is the UFC middleweight champ now
yup strike count was the key , but im sure if it was 7 rounds , vakhito gonna knockout pereira cuz pereira was more exhausted while vakhito was fresh even at round 5
Mma fans always come to see kickboxing matches and completely disregard the value of kicks in fucking kickboxing. They think every other match is a robbery because they undervalue the striking in a sport comprised of pure striking
@@kintarooe8688 if you think it's scored by solely aggression, Vakhitov should have won. Not sure if you actually kickbox but this is by far a robbery. They don't score off someone punching a guard the entire fight. Significant strikes count more than aggression.
@@kyl3patty I don’t kickbox, I train MMA and watch MMA. But according to a lot of people who know more kickboxing than me, it’s scored based on aggression and volume.
Here is the breakdown of a fight. Vakhitov actually won but due to a high guard looked not convincing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Knj_LRJkKHQ.html
Not nearly enough volume to deserve giving him the win. You can't tuck your chin up and eat shots to your gloves and land some clean low kicks and win the fight. If he threw more volume he'd have won but he was getting hurt by knees and damage matters more
I definitely didn't see a robbery, I thought it was an extremely balanced fight that could have gone both ways, I think a draw would have been fairer, but I didn't think Alex's victory was absurd
@@TheDarkKnight210yeah but these are russian homers, of course they think their guy won. Keeping a shell the entire fight and not getting KO’d is not a claim to victory, Pereira pieced him apart
This was an excellent fight, I'm just as much a kickboxing fan as I am MMA, K1 etc was an obsession for me, still have vcr tapes with K1 tournaments, love it!
Ah such fond memories of K1, usually exciting fights, roids and knockouts everywhere and some exceptional strikers on show. And some absolutely weird results like Hoost losing to sapp TWICE lol. K1 was awesome.
@@FkTheUFC Comments like yours are the most useless ones. I think it's reasonable for people to believe Vakhitov won given that the result was a split decision, and even the judges who scored the match for Pereira disagreed on which rounds he won. So no, it's actually not that simple.
Did you all just finish circle jerking each other to a picture of vakhitov? 😂 I don't see how you think he won, I saw a guy throwing a lot of punches and kicks but not really doing anything. He was backing up for his life everytime Pereira advanced though 😂
Well Vakhitov won the rematch like a lot of us knew he could. I'm down for the trilogy if they ever want to make it happen but it looks like Pereira is moving to MMA for the time being.
The first time I see Artem. He reminds me of the red scorpion of Ignachov. He is too skilled and he won this fight. He overwhelmed Pereira. He had no solution and he will need long time for his leg to heal
34:37 Back then,Alex called out heavyweight champ,Rico Verhoeven,Glory Champion 10 years, now wants to fight Tom Aspinall, interim HW UFC champ who trains with Rico…Poatan has no fear
@Ivanovich Svidrigailov vc mora no Brasil ?
What a shame , Vakhitov won that fight clearly. Artem fought a perfect game plan. He was blocking all most every shot and was in a nice flowing state making combinations offensively and on the counter. Pereira was only looking for a big counter shot especially his hooks but he couldn’t figure out Vakhitov. He tried to lure Artem to open up for a big counter but Artem was composed. By doing so Pereira wasted time by not engaging much whilst Artem kept scoring on points. Pereira should’ve changed his game plan a little bit once he noticed that Artem was blocking everything and wouldn’t open up his guard by engaging with more subtle combinations so that he could get a good counter. Having said that I think it was clear that pereira is much stronger and dangerous than Artem because you could see a lot of his shots were not meant for the ko but to create a decisive counter but even so the shots that were aggressive and more powerful that he was throwing were like bombs and you could see that reaction in Artem’s face. He just wasted valuable time. Artem is a genius fighter and based on that should’ve won on points clearly.
I'm not even Brazilian but Pereira clearly won, Vakhitov only got round 2 and 5 whereas Pereira had 1, 3, and 4. Vakhitov had ring control yet he barely capitalized on it when it mattered. Vakhitov preferred power over volume, yet Pereira hit with power, volume, and precision. Vakhitov did best when he closed the gap and when he was also catching Pereira with low kicks. But Pereira still win since he landed with just as hard shots and more shots than Vakhitov, was able to do it multiple rounds and got caught less
I had Perreira winning 1,2,4,5 but i can see people thinking Vakhitov won 3,4 and any other round actually lol. Amazing fight. Really hard tempo, exhausting fight. Rematch would be interesting
In my vision, Pereira won round 1,3,4 bc there were no clear winner based on damage, so Pereira takes it by the amount of strikes, bt round 2 and 5 were clear victory by Vakhitov, the diference betwen the amount of stries hasn't so diferent but he caused a lot more damage in Poatan, anyway, 48-47 Alex "Poatan" Pereira
Even Pereira was surprised by his win. 3.15. Vahitov was sharper and had a superior game plan which he managed to perfectly implement. Fight was close 100 percent. But with slight edge Vahitov won
I agree but in my vision, round 1, 3 and 4 are the ones that Pereira won because the overal damage from both figthers were very close, so the amount of strikes settled those rounds giving Pereira the fight
I get what you're saying, but Pereira damaged vahitov more and vahitov played it too safe with his guard all the way up the whole fight. Double edged sword, made Alex a more active fighter but anyway. Close fight anyone could have gotten the win by split decision
That's completely your speculation 😂 the only difference is that artem was striking more for points but everytime Pereira answered he took control of the fight immediately. More strikes don't mean anything if you didn't pressure your opponent enough to keep him from countering effectively and backing you up.
I think Stone Hands won rounds 1,2,5 easy. But I will say Vakitov is one helluva soldier I’d be knocked out in the first round. And both of them looked really good at the end of the fight. I’m amazed there’s longevity in this sport.
Poatan has 33 kickboxing wins with 21 knockouts. Vakhitov has 23 with 8 knockouts. They are both amazing but I always prefer fighters that go for finishes in combat sports. As a fan winning by points is never quite as interesting. They would all kick my butt though.
