Yes, you are right! Will be expecting your starched denims displayed in your studio! Good contents on your YT Channel. I love them!

I have used corn starch to starch jeans before and then ironed the jeans after they dried. I have never tried a thick starch like yours without ironing. I decided to try this. My corn starch did not seem to get very thick at first. When it cooled off it became very thick. Almost like jelly! I thought this may be too thick but decided to use it anyway. Jeans are drying now.

Aha! For sure, your denim jeans will become stiff. Wearing it will be challenging and fun. Keep it up, brother!

I just checked on my jeans. Wow! They are really stiff! I now understand why you said wearing them will be a challenge.

Update: admittedly these were not easy to put on. But once I got them on and started moving around, they started to shape to my body and they started to get a little easier to move around in. Yes, at the end of the day they were still very stiff, but the more I moved around, the more I liked how they were slowly adjusting to my body. Or maybe I was adjusting to them! But definitely an interesting experience. Will keep wearing them starched up for now. Thanks!

I love starched denims, this is a great way and I will try myself. Previously I was using starch out of a spray can and did it with them turned inside out but when wearing them, after a while, it would start flaking off from the inside like I had a skin problem haha. This is a better method rubbing it in. Thank you 👍

Hello sir, how did you make the starch gel so smooth? Mine had bunch of small lumps in the starch that i created. I added 3 tbsp of corn starch in 2 cups of water and boiled and stir it frequently. What am i doing wrong?
@jovienarciseph
@jovienarciseph Месяц назад
I think you are doing it wrong. You should add more water for the boiling water. Make sure you mix first the 3 tbsp of corn starch with the 2 cups of water in a separate bowl. Once the water in a separate pan is boiling, that is the time you mix your prepared diluted corn starch in tap water to the boiling water and then slowly stir. Remove the pan once you get the proper texture of the starch mix you are going to apply to your jeans.

@jovienarciseph thanks for the help. How much water should be in the boiling water if I used 3tbsp corn starch that has been mixed with two cups of cold water?

how many ml of water, how many grams of corn flour,and how long does it take to boil water mixed with corn flour?, thank
@jovienarciseph
@jovienarciseph 3 месяца назад
I can only estimate. One cup of corn starch for two gallons of water which is mixed first with cold water before pouring it in boiling water. Once it is sticky, it is safe to put off the stove and have the solution cool down.

Corn starch is known is cornflour in the UK and most of europe. Cornflour/corn starch look like a very finely grind, pure white powder. Corn flour, is known as corn meal in the UK, thats a courser grind and is more yellow.

What's the purpose of making it stand? All my unsanforized denim can stand like that after initial soak without any corn starch. Now it's all dirty, what's the purpose???
@jovienarciseph
@jovienarciseph 2 года назад
Yes! My unsanforized heavyweight denim jeans can also stand on their own. However, this process is fun for the lightweight ones. The creases initially made will become your whiskers and honeycombs in the fading process. Thanks for watching!

usually u end up with sharper creases but me personally i like to soak all my raw denim and get 20 percent of the starch out using cold water only. this way you get the best of both worlds. almost raw but a little stiffer than one wash denim.
