In this video, I demonstrate how I glue the grains into the finer for a high power Aerotech or Cesaroni (CTI) high power rocket motor. Many 75mm and 98mm motors require grains to be bonded into the liner for a safe burn. In addition, a couple of Aerotech 54mm motors also require bonding.

Moving comment over here in case the other video gets taken down.... Braden, you made that look so easy. Thank you for posting this video. I found out that it REALLY helps to have a good (new) bottle of glue. I recently did the grain-bonding exercise for my Aerotech M1500G that I flew for my NAR Level 3 certification. I too ordered a bottle of Elmers Glue-All Max from Amazon and apparently I got a bottle that was pretty old. The glue was VERY thick and didn't run very well and started foaming almost immediately (no there was no moisture involved except maybe some humidity in the air). With all of the problems that I had I was barely able to get the last grain pushed all of the way in. Thankfully it worked out in the end and my L3 flight and recovery was perfect. After the fiasco with the Elmers' I posted in the Aerotech Open Thread on the Rocketry Forums asking if the were ever going to approve the use of Gorilla Glue for grain-bonding. Aerotech replied back that they had been recommending both brands for some time now. Here is a link to that reply from Aerotech where they linked the different documents where they mention that Gorilla Glue is accepted. www.rocketryforum.com/threads/aerotech-open-thread.125657/post-2561681

Definitely gonna help me when I get to assembling my M1060 for my L3 in the coming weeks. 😁

I am not too familiar with these propellants. Is static not a concern at all for these? I kind of expected to see some ESD precautions in use when handling them raw? Thanks for the videos!

Fortunately, these propellants are not that volatile. They can, in fact, be quite difficult to light from time to time

"Nice soothing music" all I hear are screams. Is this normal?
