Regarding the above video, upon further review of the published research, it appears that there isn't conclusive evidence supporting aDduction as an action of the inferior fibers of the glute max . Based on my reading around the subject, I think it is unlikely. It seems more likely that the the role of the gluteus maximus is in controlling and stabilising the hip during adduction, rather than directly causing it. Some very popular anatomy websites and even textbooks out there suggest that adduction is an action of the gluteus maximus' inferior fibers. However, the evidence does not support adduction being a role of the glute max.
