My daughter has type 1b where the 6 phosphatase enzyme is missing. Type 1a is Von Gierke's and the enzyme is present. Due to doctors not knowing this in the seventies, they inaccurately told me my second daughter would be born healthy after they did in utero testing...they were wrong.
