Below is a video link that goes over every single major metabolic pathway you need to know for the MCAT!!
• EVERY SINGLE METABOLIC...
Also note, different cells regulate glycolysis in different ways. Insulin upregulates glycolysis in certain cell types (like hepatocytes).

This guy to this guy and this guy into this guy, and then this guy into this guy, then you're gonna take this guy into this guy, and then this guy is gonna go into this guy, but this guy can only go in this direction, but this guy can go to this guy in any direction

Yo dude you are the absolute GOAT. The fact you tie in all the other processes and how they fit in, such as PPP, Glycogenolysis, etc really brings this together in such a clear way. Bravo man, Bravo. Looking forward to learning about each of those individually as well!

I think the NAD+ to NADH is listed on the wrong step. It should be at glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase. This would also add an NADH to your calculations here as well. Great video!

don't we need to know the names of the intermediates and enzymes for the MCAT?

Hi, thank you for making this video, I love your videos. I just had a question regarding the ned NADH gain. I thought Glycolysis had a net gain of 2 NADH molecules due to 2 GAP being converted to 1-3Biphosphoglycerate

@sciencesimplified3890 4 года назад
So it’s a bit complicating... but glycolysis uses 2 atp molecules to directly produce 4 atp molecules (net gain of 2 atp)...... however it also produces an NADH molecule which fuels the ETC to make ~3 atp (although this part really depends on other circumstances)..

Glycolysis directly produces a net of 2 atp.... but in total indirectly produces around a net of ~5 atp

@@sciencesimplified3890 MCAT official reviews list a net gain of 2 NADH after G3P is dehydrogenated.

@@HowniGzu You are correct. The NAD+ reduction happens in the step after what he wrote here. There would be 2 NADHs, one for each molecule after the aldolase split.
