Had another day at the Carolina Siren Co. shop to get stuff done, and decided to record the 1003 there. Third time's the charm thankfully! The siren doesn't sound too happy, however that's explainable very simply. You see, there are brushes for the collector rings in a 1003 rotator, and the outermost one worked itself loose and was not fully seated. After the test, this was corrected by Daniel (South Carolina Sirens) and myself. That's enough of the technical stuff. I went up a hill about a quarter of a mile away to get this shot and I honestly think it paid off considerably. In spite of the heat waves, I am genuinely pleased with this recording. This siren is located at a shop at the intersection of Isthis Lane and Deerfield Drive in unincorporated Newberry County. The siren is tested every Saturday at Noon, wind rain or shine.
