last visit I was meeting my cousin John Lewis at jenks pub we walked in ordered a drink and obviously lost my welsh accent. suddenly a bunch of men Broad welsh accents later found out they were londonderry said go home to your queen??? never known this in my village.my cousin walked in didn't he go at them my family seymours go back years. I hate it where forestry taken over we used to walk amongst sheep to pick wimberries
should have left glyncorrwg alone history was more than rhonda i was born here from seymours lewises. beautiful mining village 2 shops a coop 4 pubs chapel church of england my grandad run pub and his plaque was there for years on a visit i heard a docter had taken it over i knocked and asked if i could just see inside at the massive spiral staircase a blunt no came from this london docter.i left after the pit had a fireball that burnt my 2 uncles unrecognisable except for thier feet. i was 10 it got spoilt building new sites trashing the pubs making everyone go to social ub down new site. it was beautiful village with minors walking down the rail lines that took my uncle willys foot and srm as s kid due to runawsy coal truck but it was a lovely village train used to take us to rhonda with this river the only time it flooded taking out a row of houses right up by the pit one my mother rented cledwin had shop by jenks old minors used to play cards with old matchsticks.
