GM Daniil Dubov - GM Gagare Shardul, English opening, Blitz chess
The English Opening is a chess opening that begins with the move:
1. c4
A flank opening, it is the fourth most popular and, according to various databases, anywhere from one of the two most successful[ to the fourth most successful of White's twenty possible first moves. White begins the fight for the centre by staking a claim to the d5-square from the wing, in hypermodern style. Although many lines of the English have a distinct character, the opening is often used as a transpositional device in much the same way as 1.Nf3 - to avoid such highly regarded responses to 1.d4 as the Nimzo-Indian and Grünfeld Defences, and is considered reliable and flexible.
The English derives its name from the English (unofficial) world champion Howard Staunton, who played it during his 1843 match with Saint-Amant and at London 1851, the first international tournament.[5] It did not inspire Staunton's contemporaries and caught on only in the twentieth century.[5] It is now recognised as a solid opening that may be used to reach both classical and hypermodern positions. Mikhail Botvinnik, Tigran Petrosian, Anatoly Karpov, Garry Kasparov, and Magnus Carlsen employed it during their world championship matches. Bobby Fischer created a stir when he switched to it from his customary 1.e4 late in his career, employing it against Lev Polugaevsky and Oscar Panno at the Palma de Mallorca Interzonal in 1970, and in his world championship match against Boris Spassky.
Blitz chess (also known as speed or fast chess) is a type of chess in which each player is given less time to consider their moves than normal tournament time controls allow. Openings, tactics and strategy are same.

After Bc5 instead of Rc8 black should have played Re8, seems white has nothing more than a draw: Be7 Kg8. Or Qxf6 Qxf6 Rxe8+ Kg7 Re7+ and draws by repetition

8:00 Could black not have traded Queens there? I dont understand
@Landdropper
@Landdropper 4 года назад
after that there is a check for black king and they got to either lose rook or trade rooks and play with extra bishop on white side
@sarahredzuan3115
@sarahredzuan3115 3 года назад
if they trade queens, the bishop will take the black queen and it will be check, black need to take it or move the king away, rook e1 will take the rook on e8, if the king moves to f8 earlier, it could take the rook back, but if the king takes the bishop while in check earlier, white will be up a rook and black only have 8 seconds left compared to white who have 50+ seconds

7:19. I was about to suggest Re8 instead of miserable looking move Rc8 but I saw Be7 wich seems trong BUT kg8!! And every seems to hold! The pin along the e line looks anoying even though black can't really take advantage of it.

Why he surrendered? He could trade the queens then when dubov check with the bishop he go back to c1 with the king to defend the rook
