Some explanations for the people who didn't get what happened : as you can see on the video Dubov stops the clock before playing his move to call the arbiter and ask for the draw because of the threefold repetition, it is the right thing to do you shouldn't play your move and then ask for a draw to the arbiter because you have the right do it only when it is your turn to play. Obviously Dubov knows the rules perfectly. But what's hilarious ! The arbiter thinks somehow that Dubov is doing something illegal I don't understand russians and their conversation why he thinks that but the facts are : he refused to give the draw which was right, and gave Dubov a penalty, his opponent got + 2 minutes on the clock. What a shame, you can see Dubov laughing because he finds this crazy as all chess players knowing the rules. By the way the players were almost already ok for the draw so it didn't matter at the end. And Golubov in my opininon would have felt guilty to keep pushing this since Dubov's request should have been accepted by the arbiter.
@@user-hf4lf1xf2c Yes but that Dubov guy knows how to count until three, 9.01 Kf4 black to play, 9.08 Kf4 black to play, 9.15 Dubov will play Kf4 and black to play. Arbiter could have asked the guy who was filming to check the video just to be sure, instead of saying : No it's not true ! I wasn't there because I took 1minute to arrive but I sure know it's only 2 and not threefold repetition.
@@ebrithil64 all I do is translate what they said. Also as I hear arbiter checked the game through computer cause these boards they playing on translating live so he's saying that there was only 2 repetitions and Dubov didn't go watch and argue he just agreed and started to ask arbiter for a decision.
@@user-hf4lf1xf2c I know you just translated their conversation, and thanks. I just want to add if I could answer to this arbiter since I played sometimes on those chessboards I see it isn't plugged ( 0.07) so his "computer check" might not have been very accurate :)
@@accardifrancesco97 it's a draw. Because are there three same moves in check on Dubov's king. He stopped the watch but less one move for three moves. I'm sorry, my English is not good.
Did you realized that dubov is playing with left hand when he is playing white so he can hit clock easier. When he is on black side than he is playing with right hand. I never seen anyone doing that
can someone explain the existence of Ethernet cable connection ports on the chessboard? Is it one of those that has sensors to track the games more easily?
Dubov has been compared to Tal a lot this year. ( rightly so imho). It would appear he has studied the magician from Riga closely. Even down to wearing sunglasses in overcast weather.
I am not a type of person that is easily impressed or tends to be a fan of every player etc, but I would definitely have to say that I am a big fan of his,to the point that I would genuinely feel good if he continues winning some strong tournaments and stuff...it is just a combination of extremely entertaining, creative ,dinamic and wild style plus his personality is interesting and even his looks make him unique ,to me he's a special guy that stands out,and that's not something that you see everyday so one ought to appreciate that at the very least
It is a electronic board. It can connect to a pc, all the pieces and squares have little chips to identify them, and when connected to a pc the game is broadcasted and save automatically
0:33 - 1:31 nearly a minute spent on that move. Boy I bet Golubov was weighing the odds of taking the pawn on b2 and working out if it was poisoned or not.
Its called the Englunds gambit, usually plays 3. Be4 and Black Queen will take on b2 followed by 5. Nc3 Bc5 6. Rb2 Qxc3 7. Bxc3 Bxc3 8. Nd2 and bishop takes the pawn. „Only“ +2 advantage for white but I guess the IM forgot he‘s playing against Dubov lol
what golubov played is certainly better than Qxb2 against dubov but I don't understand why he played the englund in the first place if he just wanted a normal position
Dubov claims draw after three-fold repetition of position i assume. He technically didn’t play the final move to make it truly thee-fold but it was obviously the move to be played. I don’t speak Russian but I imagine that is what the discussion was about.
I think Dubov stopped the clock because Golubov was about to repet the same move three times (and that's draw) But that hadn't happen yet, so they kept playing, but Golubov repeated the move one more time.. So it was actually draw
Es tablas por triple repetición pero creo que Duvob las reclamó antes, el juez no lo aceptó y le dio mas tiempo a Golubov, repitió la jugada y ahi sí le aceptaron las tablas. O eso entendí que paso
9:14 Dubov stopped the clock and demanded a draw because there will be a three-fold repetition, but it has not happened yet and therefore the opponent did not agree 11:57 Dubov says: "now I demand on my move"
In this video we can clearly see that I don't understand anything about this game. I've been playing for 3 days and I can't even beat the a.i on "master" difficulty.
