A lot of 90's GM cars....Oldsmobile, Buick, Chevrolet....had these electronic temperature control modules. Here's how to diagnose and replace a faulty module so you don't get stuck without A/C, heat, defrost, etc. Please subscribe and leave your feedback in the comments. Thanks.

I have a 96 98 just like this one. Never had this problem, but stumbled upon your video while looking for heater core tutorials. Mine is leaking under the glovebox area. Thankfully, doesn't seem like too hard of a job. On the topic of ACs, one thing that always annoyed the hell out of me with this car is that the AC wants to turn on with every damn vent setting. Makes no sense, seems it was engineered that way, and I'm sure it's probably why the compressor went out. I was able to replace that though too. Fun times with the Olds!

Thank you very much! I was hoping to find some written directions for removal, but this video has walked me through the entire process. Well done and greatly appreciated!

I have a 1990 Olds 98 that won't blow heat. Previous owner wired blower to a switch. I'm hoping it's the module and not a blend door issue. It changes from vent to floor and defrost no problems but just won't blow heat. Flushed coolant so it shouldn't be a heater core issue. I'll probably try a module from ebay. Easy enough to replace. Like the video.

thanks, My AC control works, but per mechanic AC is not turning on due to controller as he jumped the AC compressor and it works fine. trying to find a inexpensive unit but all expensive.

Yeah, I paid a lot for a used one. Had no choice...couldn't live without A/C or defrost.... Let me know how it works out. Good luck.

If you can get your hands of a used replacement, it's really pretty easy to swap it out. Good luck.
