How To Replace the spider fuel injection system on a Vortec GM engine. You could have codes such as a P0200 (general misfire code) or p0172 P0175 (rich codes due to stuck open fuel injectors). You can also experience rough idle, misfiring, lean condition, hesitation, no pow and engine no start conditions especially after sitting for a while. 4.3 5.0 and 5.7 vortec engines have spider injectors. Standard FJ504 injectors and Felpro MS 90269 are what we installed in this video. This particular car we worked on was a GMC Yukon Denali..same for silverados, k1500 1996-1999 .chevrolet S10 1996-2004 Express 1500 Astro, blazer, jimmy, also have them. Thanks for the video! Doing mine this week. You did a great job of cleaning everything up before the reinstall - nicely done. I was hoping the thermostat housing and hose would not have to be removed. I also learned that 3+ hands makes for easier work, but I'll be going it alone.

Hey, looking for your opinion here. I have a 99 classic (98 body) k1500 with 5.7L. A month ago fuel pump went out, I replaced it and the filter. Had no issue afterwards. Start and ran good. A month after that, went to start pickup and it had a little longer cranking and it would start and immediately die. No engine codes. I have 60psi on the fuel line at the check valve. No other symptoms that I have found, just hard crank, starts, and dies. Won't run long enough to check fuel pressure while running. I'm wondering I'd the spider injection is worn out or maybe the fuel pressure regulator. I did change spark plugs, they were worn out and smelled pretty gassey. Any thoughts? The pickup has 220k miles on it. But has been well taken care of. It seems like the engine is flooding,one odd thing is when I turn key to on, the fuel pump turns on like normal, but when I turn key off, the fuel pump turns on again. I'm not sure if that is normal operation or not.

Mannnnn, you made inserting those injectors into the cylinders look so easily. I tried to to this job last year on my 4.3L V6 Vortec and I broke one of the plastic tips off one of the injectors, so I had to return it to eBay and put my old one back in. Been driving it around nearly a year like that with a P0300 code constantly showing.

I have this with a School bus I bought. Kept it factory with a good clean up. My mobile mechanic truck. Gonna upgrade with a whole different system when I feel like it.

I have a p0300 and a p0306. Replaced plugs wires cap rotor. The codes only come on after 65mph and goes off after a day on its own. Does not run funny like a misfire. Even with the check engine light on. Any help or info would be appreciated. 99 5.7 lower intake manifold gaskets replaced about 5yrs ago. With new stretch bolts.

I bought the AC Delco spider injectors 89060440 for my 96 Chevy c1500 5.7L and the instructions say “it is necessary to cross tube 5 over 7 and tube 4 over 2.”

Excellent and many thanks. We did engine swap in sons 96 k1500 and did new spider injection. But it ran and popped in the intake bad. Lots tried but then we found the o-ring for spider wasn’t seated correctly, sprayed brake cleaner sound it snd engine died. The oil was a savior but also needed persuasion to stay seated. Then couldn’t get fuel lines in, but got it. We found bracket upside down too. Glad we got it right. It has long tubes now and loud, so not starting it at 11:30pm in the HOA neighborhood. Hope for tomorrow. Think this was issue with running bad and popping.

Did this make difference ?? I put new fuel pump n filter in I have no check engine lights. It misses at idle then smooths out barely any power misses up hills also

Please for the love of god. Snap the new injectors into the frame first before you try to plug the injectors into their individual holes. You guys made that way harder than it needed to be lol

With the fuel line bro I only got one going on ??? The truck came like at but now after finishing putting a spider injector in I have a massive fuel leak at the fuel line because only one hole has a line other empty but that’s how it was before ?? And it didn’t leak now it does any ideas thanks

Can i use Engine oil or Transjel to lube injector o-ring seals on regular 4 cyl. engine ? Everybody on forums says use white lithium grease. Thanks . ( drinks beer )

What classifies the old ones as "mechanical" being that they are essentially "electronically controlled" ei the giant plug on top of them sending currents. I've never understood that.

Golly looks like a ton of work, Good video. I am working my 1994 Astro van 4.3L V6 RPO L35 VIN W (1992-1995) CPI. In later years GM came out with CSFI. I assume in this video you replaced the CSFI with something newer, but what is the newer version that you installed called and what years used? Now people are going with Holly Sniper with intake and transmission controller but that is very expensive compared to what you did. Is there any way to convert the 1992-1995 Central Multiport Fuel Injection (CMFI) that most people call CPI and many mistaken thinking only one spider whereas there are three spider systems according to my research unless I am mistaken. Do you know how to convert from 1992-1995 CPI to the spider system that you show in this video? Godspeed.

I really hate these, and I think my 99 suburban has a plugged up #7 injector, or partially plugged, it doesn't seem to miss when you give it gas and it will get up and go, seems like no power loss, but I always have a miss fire in #7, and I've done cap, plug and wire. this is where I wish I kept my old TBI 5.7 lol

@@klowny1969 I used throtle cleaner instead. Spider injector now sitting in place with intake manafold on top. Sitting about 1/4" above motor seat. Hoping to have good seal as I start installing the bolts.
