'GMA' celebrates Latina-led car club l GMA 

I'm proud of these Ladies! I am 54 years old, and as a fellow lowrider, I am happy to see the ladies being recognized but also the younger generation to continue la cultura. I grew up in the 70's and 80's around the lowriding scene. The stereotypes were tough to deal with especially in the early 90's and cruising was an invitation for unwanted attention from the police. I am glad to see that a lot of cities are dropping the cruising bans. I owned a 60 Impala which was my first lowrider at age 15. Since then had a 84 Monte Carlo, 41 Master Deluxe, 85 Monte Carlo and 46 Fleetmaster Town Sedan. Bombs and Lowriders forever! Keep the peace and roll on!

Living in the Bay Area, the low rider community is a nuisance! They tend to obstruct traffic without permits and risk public safety by blocking emergency vehicles. I wish I could say different, but I wish low rider parades were held to the same legal requirements as other organized parades!
