There has to be a way to permanently disable the stupid worthless fucking feature without screwing anything else up... I just bought a 2021 a few weeks ago and after spending 60K + I'm irritated I have to press a damn button every time I get into my truck...
It’s abundantly clear that you hit a button to turn it off people that came to this wanting to fix the problem where they don’t have to do that every time
There is no way to disable without significant modifications. This video is really for somebody that has a new truck and is wondering how to prevent the engine from turning off and on. Thanks
You can buy a auto start eliminator for about $100. It should take about 2 hours to install. Also, you may run into warranty issues. Or, you can manually press the button as I show.
My truck is a 2018 Sierra and has this but mine just shuts off, It does not crank over to restart it simply runs once you let off in brakes. Is there a way to disable this on 2018?
I thought my truck was breaking or sum.. but then i saw auto stop on the panel i came here to see how to turn it off but even if it does go into autostop i comes back pretty quick.
Luckily in south Louisiana. It’s so hot always. Even now in December. Long as my air is running. I don’t have to press the button. The AC keeps me going
Thank you thank you thank you, I thought there was no choice in this, every time I came to a stop the truck shuts off, it's ridiculous! Didn't know it was optional.
I saw a video on you tube on a diff way to disable it, Unplug the hood open sensor. I opened my hood the sensor plug is right behind the latch, I unplugged it and the start stop is disabled.
Good to know. I truly don't understand how GM thinks turning off the engine is smart. It will wear the battery out faster. Where do dead batteries go? That will be the next big movement...tons of batteries from all these electric vehicles. I am scared to think about it.
@@origtex Hey I messed up, its works but thrs a prob. When you unplug the hood sensor you get a check engine soon light and the remote start wont work. SRY. I will leave the AC on to prevent the start stop, in the winter I will put car in low. GL
I don't think the button was on 2018's. Supposedly, there was some kind of jumper that could be used. Personally, I don't like the idea, but I really hate the engine turning off at a red light.
