Great exchange. keep up the good work. RN, I'm heavily into GME, I love the DFV saga and even think that understanding his actions need a bit of tinfoil. However please don't hold back on stating facts and opinions clearly that some "Gamestop people" might not like. We love your videos as one of the few GME related places without thought bans. I like the friendly and respectful interaction between the two of you. But please don't hesitate to question each other's views. The real added value of your exchange lies in showing each other what one might have overlooked or misjudged, or what further research might be worthwhile. Strong together is not about affirming each other, but helping the other to improve where it can be helpful. Perhaps you would like to give your audience the opportunity to formulate questions in advance next time? Of course, you can just pick out a few that seem relevant to you. ES, I would appreciate if you could clarify a bit about Max Pain. I understand that it is less marketmakers driving the price to Max Pain but that it is mostly a logical process due to traders liquidating their options OTM.

It’s a multi variant story. Some are in it for the squeeze, some for the justice of fair markets, some for the fundamentals, some for the nostalgia, some to thumb-the-eye of traditional investor pundits continuously gaslighting us. But anyone on the short side are missing the point - you can’t bet against MILLIONS of gamers set on winning a game and making money.

If more people begin buying options on GME it's going to go insane, historically very few GME longs have used the options market, so the shorts have not had to worry about it. Ideally more begin using them to speculate on GME positive price action and create gamma ramps into FTD cycles

Erik, for the next one I would love to hear more about your understanding of topics such as market makers and naked shorting even if your understanding doesn’t always align with Richard’s current theory. The more we debate the faster we learn. I think we all understand no one has the full picture on GME but the more diversity of perspectives the faster we can unwrap this puzzle.

Hey Erik just a comment RE: the final 10 mins of the video and max pain. I have also been arguing that max pain drifts towards the price as options are traded around it, so the phrase "ending at max pain" isn't really a good statement. There are often times where the price moves violently down towards max pain - not always, but someone (not me!) who has been watching the stock carefully and gets the right feeling at the right time can and has used it to their advantage in the recent action. I mention this because you said they may influence it "if it's close", but you might be surprised by how far it can move to max pain *sometimes*. I think you were only just getting into it by the time the video ended - I had hoped Richard would have time to point out some of the ridiculous price movements that have happened at times because that might change what you think they're (the counterparty, whoever) capable of. There is so much to this story that old heads sometimes forget just what a crazy ride they've been on and the crazy shit they've seen.

Yeah, it's a tricky topic because max pain as a force is really difficult to isolate and prove by itself - there's a breadth of research that tries to and it's still inconclusive. For example, your example of "how far it can move to max pain" is likely due to a ton of factors coalescing that then are inaccurately fully attributed to max pain. this video goes into the topic more deeply: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ew-PJBDnQYc.html

@@OutlierTrading I consider max pain to be a value not a 'cause'; I'm not attributing something to it - I'm saying that sometimes, for some reason, GME violently moves towards max pain in weird timeframes. There are other times when some kind of control has been exerted over the price of Gamestop - during DFV's livestream is one example but I believe another happened in 2021 after a shareholder call. I'm saying that someone who is familiar with and used to normal market behaviour may be surprised by some of the price action on GME.

i'd need to look more at the broader data to develop an objective analysis regarding GME price tendency towards max pain. my hypothesis as of now remains the same - max pain targeting by MMs likely can drive small price fluctuations in slower markets but becomes more difficult to execute in something like GME with extremely high volatility. i don't dismiss it as an input potential to price movement, but am skeptical of assigning it significant input on the price behavior you see beyond the many other more active forces impact on price.

I’ve noticed the share price of an acquiring company goes lower only if used stock to purchase the other company.. GameStop would be using cash, so as long as the acquired company isn’t seen as trash, should be bullish.

A couple things: I wouldn't view the short-term price contraction as bearish - it's simply the function of making a large investment with the idea of helping the business but it's not guaranteed. So there's risk. However, if it's a smart and well executed transaction, even if price dips on the initial news, it's very likely to recover as the acquisition starts to produce and amplify the underlying business.

I think it Just dawned on me watching this video why we never see a July cycle. Since we just went through this period and some people talked about it. Yep, that's got ot be it. Just looked at the Prospectus. The XRT Index is Always re-balanced after the close of trading on the third Friday of June and that is announced in May. So it looks like they basically have to settle up the books in June.

Market Makers don’t have leeway to move markets but they can provide liquidity to a big fund like Citadel Securities that can crush the price without having to worry about supplying the shares for 35 days.

They absolutely can move the price. We’ve seen them move it 15 percent or more in a single day. See the day roaring kitty live streamed and see the day the shareholders meeting. And maybe it’s not the market makers. Maybe it’s a prime broker just not wanting to see a gamma ramp. But someone absolutely can and does move the price wherever they want

again, no debate that price can be moved for various reasons. but, it's important to try and be specific and objective in the analysis. "But someone absolutely can and does move the price wherever they want" > if this were the case, would we have seen GME hit $64 on 14May? I would wager the entities you're referring to, that "cand and do move price" wouldn't actually want price there. Same with it hitting $46 on 6June, $48 on 7June, and so on. My point is, an objective lens and careful analysis of the individual factors is so important to be able to actually isolate them and their effect. So while I fully agree with you, it requires a bit more depth of analysis.

I understand they produce ETF shares and go short the ETF. Then they buy the other positions in the ETF. This way they are balanced on the other positions and short just GME. (If the ETF position is closed they have the other positions but still have to locate GME)

Gamestop needs to buy psa grading company. I think it's low cap. Worth Around 900 mil. I think this would be awesome! Also inclusion to the snp500 would be a big deal. Cheers! 🍻
