@Carl Stroud lol i was just trying to get them to play this a bunch cus it's fun to watch. I got a pretty killer beverly team that's a pain in the ass to play against
I am thrilled about this! Can't wait to get more Gaslands mayhem! This is a fantastic gateway game. I got two non-gamers, non-modellers into it and now we play just about every Friday night! I reccomend this to anyone who wants a low cost, easy to learn and play,"beer and pretzels " game that has tons of potential to unleash your creative impulses. Thanks for the video man!
@@MaxRamos8 you can play the game perfectly well with the original rulebook. Initially, we used scanned templates, glued to cereal box card and for the skid dice we simply used standard d6s, referring to a simple legend ,taped to a chunk of terrain where we could easily reference it. We used the free downloads with the extra stuff that made it's way into the Gaslands : Refuelled book, as it became available. All you really need to get besides the rulebook are cars, and if you feel like it some post apocalyptic terrain which can be easily scratch built from junk. The other thing you will need to make are race gates which can be as easy or elaborate as you like. I painted black and yellow chevrons on 1mm styrene sheet with a card template, spraying the pattern. Simple, and looks good. We tape them down to the table with doubled over masking tape.
My favorite part of this game is that it has rules for keeping the destroyed cars on the board. It's so cool seeing the carnage afterwards, you don't see that often in most table tops.
I really wish Osprey would release a superhero-themed ruleset along the lines of This Is Not A Test and Reality's Edge. Those three combined with Gaslands would make my _XTREME dreams_ come true on the table! :')
Okay so there's the faction that revolves around making one overpowered car (the ghosty one) - and there's war rigs which are... one... big car... hrmmmmm.........
Just started building 2 teams with my little boy so I will defo order the new book. Also going to make a track with a big matt and some home made track parts etc so will be doing some content for my channel around gasland and also guild ball as well then when my new 40k Amy's and kill teams are done that Ill be next really need to make better vid's for my channel
As someone mentioned already, picking this book up just for the layout improvements. For the first edition it was more a reference book but I learned to play by watching Ash & Co. play.
Book arrived yesterday. We played the "car and buggy" race scenario the author suggests to get started. Immediate fun! Slides, shooting, collisions, and wipeouts equaled deep immersion. Now, time to get models modded as we move along. Thanks for putting up Gaslands reports, too.
Thanks for the overview. Pre-ordered a copy. I tried playing the game with my son, using the quick reference sheet and 3d printed dices and templates. But having the full book will make it more interesting.
This Really is a GREAT game. it does deliver on what it promises: which is that you can get going right away. The rules are procedural, so you read the stages and do them step by step, you don't even need to read the whole book to get started. You just need to understand: laying templates and dice results.
Wow perfect timing. Just bought a lot of cheap used cars off ebay. Had the original book for a while, finally going to build some cars and start playing.
If I would have known this was coming out, I would have waited. I just bought the original rule book a few weeks ago, haven’t even had a good look at it yet.
Love this and you going through it. But...talk slower and make sure you actually know everything. Anytime I here a reviewer say “ah, I think...” I hear the classic record scratch in my head and think, “hmm.” -good or bad. Two thumbs up!!!
Hi! Awesome vids!!! U guys need to do at least 1 dead race per month, campaign style, multiplayer, and the winner car gets to get sold on eBay, in the end that driver is now on Mars, so why not getting some profit, extra funding for your channel???!!!
just got my copy! I agree that the rules and gameplay are presented in an easier to understand format, which I appreciate. Also excited about some of the new Sponsors, especially the ghost car team. Excited to dive back in with this game
I really want to play gaslands with a slightly larger scale model set just for the sake of having model cars an vehicles that are scaled to work with my 28mm gaming minis.
Always intended on getting this but never got round to it, so I'll pick this up. Still would b nice for it to come with a little set of templates but yeah
Oh, I thought that the new edition would do away with some of the constant dice rolling. Don't get me wrong, I know it's one of the defining mechanics but also exactly the reason this isn't as good as a gateway game as it could have been, imho.
