I was just playing the sandbox version of this map with LVS AI Ariral UFOs chasing me around with spotlights, hiding in the firewatch tower while being chased by UFOs was really cool
Ive always wanted a spooky map based in a forest lookout tower, ive always loved the idea of watching above the trees for fire, its all quiet unless its a horror game.
Thanks for playing my map once again! Only thing that didn’t work for some reason (maybe because of VR) is that you were not supposed to be able to pick up that B3 card until you unlocked B2 and when standing in front of B3 there should’ve been text saying that you noticed the keycard in the second watchtower, thus missed one more scare going up to that tower… Great video as always bro! :)
Wait, there was a scare going up the second tower for the card? Literally never noticed that, so either I was just oblivious or me noclipping back out of the facility borked a trigger or something.
All the worldbuilding, all the atmosphere... only to end in a dumb PNG jumpscare. 50:54 Edit: might as well throw the other ones in 29:50 - le man 37:52 - le ghost door I expected the map to be way heavier on the "thing happens, be scared" factor, and I'm not sure if I'm happy or disappointed that the one time it happened was at the very last payoff. At least the buildup was stellar.
Babe wake up, Mr. Lieberman uploaded a new GMod map exploration video on a friday. Literally the best way to start the weekend. I just need some pizza and a cup of coffee to make it even better.
When I played this map, I stopped a little after I saw Mr. Tall, Dark, and Nasty. My thoughts at that moment: "Yeah, I'm not opening this door and making it much easier for you to get out." I then explored the rest in the full sandbox version of the map.
8:40 "WHY IS THERE ALWAYS AN UNDERGROUND FACILITY?!" - This made me lough so much because you are so right. The biggest of them all is the one from Portal(2), that almost seem to be as big as the whole US and almost as deep as to the earth mantle. XD
I feel as though a misconception many people have about big blatant jumpscares is that they're always bad.. but I don't think that's necessarily true. Really, they're only bad when they're cheap and undeserved. They can be an effective form of payoff when used sparingly, and I think the way in which this map builds up its tension totally earned the use of it.
this type of maps always gives me the feeling I'm being watched even just by watching through video, I think it's the complete silence that does it, the only source of sound being yourself is very uncommon for videogames, and forests are noisy on their own, the sounds of crickets, bird calls and just the wind itself going through the trees should make noise, but in this map it's all completely silent
So hey, I wanted to poke in and say cuz like, I see you always giving up the Safety Glock for a flashlight- you could maybe try and find a version of a vr glock that comes w/ a gunlight! I personally would be reassured quite a bit by having a light on my safety device :D
Gmod Horror maps are disturbing IMO for one reason. Gmod has an already eerie atmosphere. It never feels like you’re alone. You feel constantly paranoid. But the thing is, you are. You haven’t spawned anything in, it’s a single player world, and you have nothing to worry about! Horror maps turn this around. Now, it doesn’t matter. You ‘aren’t’ alone.
51:11 [After spawning back your hand gives you the MIDDLE Finger] ❗ "uh hand... what are you doing" . . . The Librarian just got possessed by that demon 😈
That intro sounds like the beginning of Stealth Frag from the Quake 2 soundtrack. Must've been a sound library that song used that this one does as well...
Man these explorations of these Gmod horror maps are so intensely terrifying, But so fun to watch this video, The sounds you made when you put your head or you go into the water you make cracked me up! 🤣 Man if I were you and I do this I would be like: "Nope I'm out, Not doin this by myself" Man you are so brave dude! Keep it up! 👏🏻👏🏻
22:39 you know what if I made a horror game I would set up the bathroom stall game just after a chase just for you to check the last stall see nothing wrong, and then turn to the entrance to the bathroom where the thing just chasing you it’s just staring you down
I would think that a sign stating, "report the sick" would cause many ppl to act as though they're fine/okay. I know I'd fake feeling good considering what the alternative is in a place like this. 😱 29:28 I'm reminded of several Dean Koontz novels with atmospheres/places like this. Books that made me extremely uneasy as I read them several yrs ago.
I used this map for some Unrecord x RoN experience, The NPC looking thing hecking jumpscared me. Killing me and the NPC i placed. This map is def horrifying once you go down further in the map. The Facility is fitting for some Gmod realism or unrecord stuff, But i do inform you to trigger some events like Door opening and closing, Jumpscare, And tall man appearance before deleting them, It could ruin the experience when they appear, This option is necessary if your gonna use NPCs in-game.
Oh the surplus of underground bunkers? Yeah that's all to do with lobbying and government expenditure. After all if the bunker building lobby doesn't spend a billion dollars this year then the government might decide not to give them a billion dollars next year. Then they'd have to hire more lobbyists to get the laws changed to give them more money and they could end up in a bidding war with another rival lobbying group. Spending that billion dollars building sixteen more bunkers hidden under random parts of the country meanwhile is a sure thing. Why I heard through the grapevine that just last year the Black Mesa research facility built a room that serves no other purpose then hauling crates up over a seven story deep pit then dropping them to avoid coming in under construction budget. Crazy stuff.
On moms account, but kind of reminds me of one of Markiplier's videos, he would be inside of a fire watchtower doing the strobe lights on a emergency light set, going: HELLO THIS IS MORSE CODE FOR AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I honestly think that the map Creator did a good job from watching your gameplay. But at the end a JPEG Jump Scare that ends up killing you? Come on now! No audio clues. Only a few Drawings and writing on the walls. No actual Radiation happening. Instead of the JPEG Jump Scare. The Map Creator should have had an actual Enemy or Boss for you to A. Try to kill it or B. Try to save it or C. Try to run away from it.
