I think a cool idea for the website would be a if switch you could flip to show OCG or TCG banlist on the cards. Could also be applied to show things like what is legal/limited in old formats like edison eventually
I would be very surprised if Konami never extended him an offer for a job. Dude does more to educate and inform the community than Konami ever has and his efforts have made the game accessible for old players (me) trying to get back into the game through MD and for younger folks trying to learn how to play the game correctly.
@@Ulquiorra_Cifer they banned him from tcg tournaments for “leaking” information. Which is weird because even Dkayed said that ban does nothing since he hasn’t competed in the tcg in forever. That’s like banning someone from a movie theatre who never goes to movie theaters for something they did in the parking lot. The punishment serves zero purpose
@@xer314 isn't it different, people use Gimmick lock cause even if you remove it, you still can't summon it, but Jowgen can be imperm, destroy by battle etc, so it easier to play around than gimmick lock
In fairness it was a best of 1 event, no sideboard. The decks here are not an accurate representation of what the OCG is. Tenpai would not be this big in a 2/3 event
I would be interested in a TCG report! playing MD for the past two years now has finally gotten me into wanting to try out the TCG for the first time, so I would appreciate a TCG report because you're very concise with your analysis, thanks as always for your content and websites 👍
Just had the same revelation, picked up my first cards locally, working on my TCG deck as we speak, definitely give it a shot I can't explain how much happier I've felt about the game and can't wait for my first tournament locally
I understand but they technically would have to change the pendulum mechanic from yhe ground up since they count as monsters in the main monster zone and SPELLS when in the pendulums which makes sense that anti spell counters pendulum
@@RivalFaust Imperial order is banned. It's pretty easy to imagine, from Konami's mindset, that Anti-spell is doing the exact same "no fun allowed" mechanic but it specifically targets Pendulum players at almost no cost. They would ban any other trap, tomorrow, if it sat continuously on the field and said "you can't summon in your deck's style anymore"....oh wait, they did. Vanity's emptiness is banned. Anti-spell needs to go.
I remembered the first time Tenpai got revealed, for the first months many people said "okay deck, but will never competing against the metas". But look at how mistaken they are now.
You mean like every deck when the new unchained support was release everyone said it was a good support but not tire 1 and look what happened and now I think that Memento is next best tire 2 despite everyone making fun of it sometimes the deck need only one good card like breaded fusion to be tire 1 Just like what happened with math Judging a deck before playing it several times is incorrect
@@joanaguayoplanell4912 every deck has a future when it runs 15 hand trap , heat wave , one card combo , barrier and 3 pot of prosprity . To be honest with you, pot of prosprity should be banned , not limited, as some say, because it gives the stun deck and combo deck a lot of consistency for no reason and now tenpia can use it vs full board and still ftk you also when you go first take any card from 6 Such as floodgates or ash vs branded, droll vs any deck losing to it is unfair this card should be banned and tenpia will die
It's like Branded. If the side deck doesn't respect it, it will win. Conversion in the TCG isn't that high cuz everyone on high alert in the first few weeks of Legacy of Destruction
- The only reason why Tenpai isn't yet to be top tier, is bcoz TCG player already anticipated of it when it's come at OCG. Trident Dragion price is skyrocketed bcoz, well you know why. Also Tenpai only unaffected at Main phase, when they goes battle phase just shotgun your effect(monster/spell/trap) to delete their play. - At OCG, how to counter gimmick FTK is very simple yet hard, that's why it's on top 8 at YSCJ. It field is acctualy the key card, make their all Monster had the same ability with Megaclops which hard to out and nearly impossible to interrupt. When you going second, keep your ogre to pop the field spell when they activate it's second effect, then you can drop your Rock and delete their play. The point is, delete their field spell, they done. - Some TCG player found how to summon Collosus in Yubel, but it wasn't relevant in OCG since they've new toy. - Snek and or Fireking still relevant bcoz they also had new toy. Limiting Wanted and Ash are just a warning, they'll gonna further hit it in the next banlist. - White Wood is kinda new, have no comment about that. - The effect of chummy, is kinda confusing but it's kinda balance and unbalanced in same time. Chummy doesn't affecting some deck that special summoning on deck/gy/exdeck/banishment. I mean most of deck are special summoning not from the Hand. i still has no idea how the downside works.
What a very nice analysis video! I liked the fact to show new/successful decks and the reason of their success (like for Fiendsmith engine and Gimmick Puppet for examples) and new small engine cards or handtraps (like Multchummy and Top Hat Hare) For a first new format video, that is a good one! Im hyped to play the teased decks through the video (Gimmick Puppet and Memento) and waiting for the next ones :D I have a question, when these metagame report videos will usually come? Will it be every specific periods (months, X weeks...) or after a major tournament (YCS)?
That Madolche link 3 is importantly a Beast type, which enables Messengelato's effect. Which means you don't need to keep Hootcake on the field. Also, it's very likely that the best way to play Centurion going forward will be with the White Woods engine. Whether that's the best way to play White Woods is yet to be seen, but for Centurion; White Woods just enables so much for them and pretty much for free.
@@joanaguayoplanell4912 Um, for one thing, that only happens once and you need to use that effect multiple times per turn. Secondly, you don't NEED Hootcake which is important because you don't need to keep it on the field. You can use Hootcake in the link for example, and that's huge because it sucks on the field as a 3 star monster when all of your XYZs are 4 stars.
Just saying as a person that uses ygo meta just to learn what good decks are coming - ocg decks/info are much more useful. Decks that are good in ocg now will probably be good in MD 6months from now on, while tcg decks/updates doesnt really affect us.
It's wild that they're printing all these one card combos that lead to entire boards. This is why every other tcg has a resource system and get interactive games that last more than 2 turns lol
Yeah but every other TCG isn’t Yugioh and Yugioh is doing well because it doesn’t have a resource system. We don’t need that shit, game was ass back then
Probably should have mentioned that 7k+ tournament YCS was FT1 the whole way through as they needed to do it to finish in a timely manner. All those decks that topped kind of get tossed by side deck.
Fiendsmith gonna be really fun. I'm working on a dragon ruler/kastira/diabelle, tomahawk turbo with recovery, so hoping to see the dragon ruler XYZ soon 🤞
I faced many Tenpai dragon in TCG, And they are ridiculously annoying, When the go first, their fav spell is Heat Wave that prevents both side to summon any effect monsters until their next draw phase, not including other staple and stunt cards including meta handtraps, And when they hit on 2nd turn they become almost invincible if you don't get a way to rid their stupid field spell.
That's beyond what needs to be considered a broken field spell. I think it's fair to have a deck that can FTK like that while you have a broken turn 2 deck like Tenpai so powerful.
I find it hilarious that the Yugioh community needs Konami to ban a card to stop using it. I remember watching NA rainbow six pro league a few years ago and the pros had a gentleman’s agreement to not use Echo (in game operator/character) due to how strong he was at that time. This was NA so I’m unsure if this was world wide. Still, if there’s a card as broken as maxx c I’m not sure why the community needs a governing body to tell them they can’t play it. If it’s that bad, make a community rule to not use or play it. That way the only place it could be played is at an official Konami sponsored tournament and even then it would still be frowned upon. TL;DR- you don’t need a governing body to tell you a card can’t be played.
Imagine spending 100$+ on a card lmao, im glad i dont waste my time with irl yugioh, i’ll gladly stick to MD, i have every single meta deck without spending a single cent
Wtf hella no, amber whale is the real issue. Promeathan has restriction only fire can summon when promeathan effect is activated. U ban amber whale the use of promeathan is somewhat useless. What other link 2 fire extra deck they gonna use tht is useful. Amber whale is literslly the only link 2 thts useful for them after summoning promethàn
How the crap are people loosing to this overglorified Numeron 2.0 deck? I just can't understand it. I only have trouble with them when I either hard brick or when I get hit by multiple copies of Heat Wave.
@danieltilleru3528 saddly alot of people don't see tht, if they ban max c. Gg to master duel breaking boards plus Maxx c is helping alot of non meta decks
